Lookbook: Peach on Peach

I just recently started pairing tone on tone outfits after seeing Alterations Needed pair 2 shades of purple with her Vince cardigan. Here’s what peach on peach looks like.

Top: H & M ruffle shell- size XS (similar HERE)
Skirt: H & M peach skirt- size 4 (similar HERE)
Shoes: Nine West Nude Peep Toes– size 5
Necklace: Peach/Brown Pearls (similar HERE)
Purse: LV Alma Handbag
These are from Kohl’s (surprisingly), super cheap and so pretty!
I fell in love w/this skirt after seeing it on Extra Petite and had to have it. She paired it with a floral top – see her post HERE. I was floored when she said she had to size up to a size 4.  I couldn’t find it any H & M stores and then there was one randomly shoved in one of the racks last weekend and it was the only one in the store. The SA said it was a return from a different store so I figured it has to be fate!  I checked for any blemishes and voila- it was in perfect condition. When I tried it on- I was like how is it possible for us tiny petites to wear a size 4? Clearly the size 4 in this skirt fits like a 0. I wish there was a size 2 for me to at least try on.

Here is my attempt of taking photo’s outside. As you can tell- the peach ruffle top looks much lighter (almost white) in the natural light. I never have time to take photos anywhere else other than my office. But I wanted to change it up and try some outside.
Shop other peach skirts:
1. Forever 21 peach skirtthis is really cute and comes in XS
2. J.Crew peach skirt– very feminine but not sure how it will fit petites
3. L.C. ruffled peach skirt– I was shocked at how cute this was and I believe its a Junior’s brand and comes in XS so it should be petite friendly

I just love the design and details of this skirt- so pretty and very unique compared to my other skirts. The color is definitely something that I don’t have. I did think it was a bit pricey for a skirt at H & M but the quality is quite decent.
Shop other ruffle tops:
1. Caslon Peach Ruffle Top– this is from Nordstroms and comes in XS! Never tried this brand but looks promising and affordable
2. Urban Outfitters Ruffle Shell– this looks identical to the J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell
3. Arden B. Ruffled Smocked Top– OMG, this one I may have to buy- its so flowy and feminine and comes in XS. Arden B. sizes are very petite friendly and run similar to Bebe sizes
The waist fits perfectly and the length is a not too short- which is always a good thing!
I cannot wait for H & M to have an online store. Could they just please hurry up! Anyone else find this skirt or any other goodies at H & M?

  1. Pretty outdoor pics! Yea, H&M really needs to open up online. I dread store-hopping just to find my size.

I'm glad you found the skirt. A sz 2 was "do-able" but it would sit higher up on the waist and was really really short on me as a result. A sz 4 is slightly loose on an empty stomach, but just right on a full one : )

  2. yay for outdoor photoshoot 🙂 i love how versatile this look is. It's appropriate for work AND happy hour AND dinner date AND so much more! the color of the skirt is lovely <3

    ps. if that's a size 4, what size should i be wearing? a 10???? hahahaha 😀

  3. Ohhh I loove love your outfit! I tried on the H&M tank and it was too big for me–I wish I had a bust. LOL! You look GORGEOUS!!!

  4. Your outfits are always very well put together. Thank you for the fashion/style inspirations. You must spend a lot of time to put together each post of yours. Know that I appreciate what you're doing :D.

  5. I love this!

I have ask, where do you shop for bras? You look like you might be close to my size (30D), and I have a terrible time finding bras that fit. I really need ones with side support (I'm wideset on a narrow frame…cups have to be touching to work on me) and underwire. Technically, I figured out that I need the actual shape of the underwire to be narrower with a more prominent cup, but I'll never find that! Any suggestions would be helpful. I'd rather not spend $90 for one bra, but I need something that fits! I've been back to wearing a stretchy, silky sports-like bra since nothing I have works anymore. 🙁

  6. @PetiteGorgeous- awe……thank you so much for your super sweet comments! It really does mean a lot to me!

@April- LOL…it sure is my backyard 🙂 It's only a small section of my backyard and the only place I can set my camera is on the BBQ countertop or my patio table..heheheh

@Jenn- you have the same problem huh? LOL I am a little bit wider than you, a 32D and I too have a very difficult time finding the perfect bra but I think I may have found a few that works! Have you tried CK bras? The 32D fits me really nicely and if you have a CK outlet near you- you can usually find them on sale. I have a DKNY one that is my favorite as well. If you are a 30D- I have seen some at Marshalls/TJMaxx- believe it or not!! Those stores can be a major pain but they do have that size in high end brands for dirt cheap. I have some other brands that I can't seem to think of the name off hand but will look tomorrow and let you know 🙂 We have to find you a bra so you don't have to wear your silky-sports bra anymore- poor thing:(

  7. I have two CK bras, but they still don't fit right and the cups aren't close enough together. Harder still is that I hate bras with padding because they make me look WAY too big…I already have a tiny waist compared to my natural bust and butt. Padding makes me look FAKE! LoL Anyway, I know Nordstrom has some, but they always have padding and cost an arm and a leg. I'm about ready to make my own. I suspect I might be a bit smaller than a 30 as well but not quite a 28, so that doesn't help either. I REALLY wish petite bra manufacturers would start to include cups above a B, because honestly, a 30D is not a very big cup size…its equivalent to a 32C or a 34B. And I could really use a petite bra. *sigh*

    Sorry, rant over!

  8. @Jenn- I just checked my bras and 2 other brands are Wacoal and Le Mystere. Le Mystere runs really small- I believe I have seen a 30D. Have you tried those? Also- have you checked out Little Bra Company? Not sure if they have larger cups but it's worth checking out:)

I know it can be frustrating for us petites with larger cup sizes and small band widths- nothing really seems to fit perfectly and most of us without knowing are wearing the wrong bra!

  9. wow really nice outfit!!I runed at my h&m to check out about the peach skirt but i couldn't find it anywhere!!I live in france and i'm wondering if they 're not releasing outifits after USA.i did find the top but the lining was emphasing my little belly.well i really hope i' ll find it soon.

  10. @leyla- I hope you find it too! I just found the same skirt in black and cream but the didn't have my size so I will be hunting for that one too 🙂 The top is very sheer so I pair it with a F21 nude cami otherwise it would show everything:)

  11. RP – can you please share some tips on how you manage to find "sold out" items? I'm beyond impressed that you were able to find all the Aqua sweaters and now the Gratian suit!! So many people have asked about it and couldn't find it.

  12. @PAG- LOL…I would be more than happy to share how I hunt down items after they are long gone:) I will do a separate post on it. Waiting for my Theory Gratian suit to come back from the tailor and will include it in my post 🙂

  13. Unfortunately, I don't believe Wacoal goes as small as a 30 band. I have some of their bras in a 32, and they are too big. Le Mystere bras are out of my price range. They are also hard to find in stores around here (South Jersey). I can't order online…I have to try on EVERYTHING. The Little Bra Company doesn't have cups big enough. 🙁

I don't know what to do anymore. I actually had to take in the bands on some of my bras. I can sew, but altering bras is tricky, and the fabric still lays weird and hurts now. I'm at a loss.

But thank you for your help and support. 🙂
