Lookbook: Cream & Lace

Lace seems to be really in right now so I dug up this old lace dress in my closet and paired it with some new items I just got. I was pleasantly surprised at how this outfit turned out! I haven't worn this dress for so many years, didn't even know I still had it and luckily it still fit:)
Dress: Lace Dress from a bagillion years ago (random brand)- size Small (similar HERE)
Sweater: Banana Republic Cream Boyfriend Cardigan- size PXS (on sale in-store and online)
Belt: H & M gold rope belt- size XS (similar style HERE)
Necklace: Taupe multi-colored pearls (similar HERE)
Shoes: Aldo Taupe Patent Pumps- size 5 (similar HERE)

I really wanted to wear my new H & M gold rope belt so I was just playing around with some looks. This look could be worn to work on a casual Friday or a day I know I don't have important meetings. With the cardigan off is a 'lil sexy so I would only take it off for dinner or out w/hubby.
I just got this BR boyfriend exposed seam cardigan 2 weeks ago in-store. I had a major coupon I wanted to use so I popped in and saw this on the sale rack in the Petite section. There were no PXXS left so I tried on the PXS thinking there is no way it would fit (especially the arms). But to my surprise, it fit quite nicely! I have nothing like this in my wardrobe and never understood the boyfriend sweater look but figured the cream color would be able to coordinate with a lot of my outfits. Worse case- I can just use it to keep warm in my ice box of an office. But I've actually worn it several times already! Now I wish I had picked up one in a diff color.

Here is how to replicate my Cream & Lace look:
(in taupe or cream)
Taupe Patent Pumps (love these)
(great alternative to the Aldo Taupe Patent Pumps and cheap!)

(almost identical to my H & M belt)

Ever since I started this blog back in March of this year, it's really made me more conscious of what I buy and it also has made me put together outfits that I never would have before. It forces me to try new looks and to play around and try to be creative. So don't be afraid to play around with different looks- you may surprise yourself with a great outfit! Thanks to other petite bloggers and other fashion blogs, I'm learning so much and having such a great time!!!
