Review: Tory Burch "Reva" Sting Ray Leather Ballerina Flats

So I never thought in a million years I would ever own much less wear a pair of flat shoes that weren't tennis shoes! Is this a sign I can't handle heels anymore?? Gosh- that's scary!!! These Tory Burch Reva flats just came in the mail:
I have been on the hunt for some flats to wear when I am on my shopping rampages. I have looked everywhere for a comfortable pair. I even tried cheapie ones and super expensive ones but nothing fits comfortably. And if I am going to dare to wear flats for the first time- they better be super cute and more importantly extremely comfortable!!! So I was able to find a decent pair at Nordstroms- BP brand of black peep toe (similar HERE) ballerina flats that seem to be the only one that has fit comfortably. I think I may have tried on about 50 pairs as of late. I like the idea of peep toe flats so my toesies can breathe in the summer.

Lookbook: Sweet Guava J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell

I wanted to show this J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell in a different color (see this previous post in the Light Berry color). I was going to return this  sweet guava color but when I actually tried it on, it was so pretty, I just had to keep it!
Top: J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell- size XXS (on major sale for only $14.99- hurry before they are all gone!)
Skirt: Bebe Ruffle Edge Pencil Skirt- Size 00 (similar HERE and HERE)
It's nice that I can wear this shell alone w/out a blazer or cardigan because the arm holes actually fit. The bottom is a bit baggier than I prefer but as long as it's tucked in nicely, you can hardly tell.

Shop this look in similar styles:

1. Ann Taylor Loft Ribbed Peach Tank - this comes in 2 different colors and can be dressed up or down
2. Loft Ruffle Front Top- comes in 4 different colors: white, coastal fog, summer night blue, and midnight navy (this is almost identical to the J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell)

1. Ann Taylor Ponte Ruffle Edge Skirt- this is very similar to the Bebe skirt I am wearing above
2. Loft Tierred Cotton Ruffle Skirt- this comes in petites and they still have 00 and 0 left

Lookbook: Mixing and Matching for Different Outfits

I love to mix and match different clothing items to come up with new oufits. Here is what I came up with. I paired my new H & M ruched shoulder charcoal blazer (see previous post here) with my H & M black/gray skirt (see post here)and Ann Taylor floral front shell in dark basalt.
Jacket: H & M Charcoal cropped blazer- size 2 (similar HERE and HERE)
Skirt: H & M gray/black skirt- size 2
I just love this skirt but couldn't find anything really similar to link it to:(  As far as accessories go, I went light on it because there is so much going on with this oufit. I just kept it simple with my Chanel earrings. I love how this Blazer fits. The length is a cropped style but on a petite, it's a perfect length! And the cut is made so that it's fitted in the waist area and not a straight cut like most jackets.

Another Petite Friendly Brand: Eight Sixty in XS

Here is another brand I found at Nordstrom Rack called Eight Sixty that is actually very petite friendly. At first- I thought it was a Junior's brand but it turns out to be a women's brand. Never heard of it before but I ran across this dress and decided to try it on and loved it!!!
The bottom half is 100% silk and the exposed zipper in the back is what sold me. Had it been faux silk- I definitely would have passed even though the XS fits so nicely. These types of dresses which is really popular in the Junior's department, I tend to shy away from only because it's a little too teeny-bopper for me. But what I liked about this particular dress is the fact that it really looks like a true 2-piece and not too "kiddish".
Dress: Eight Sixty Dress- size XS (similer HERE and HERE)
Bolero: Aqua girls cashmere shrug- girls Large (similar HERE)
Shoes: Aldo pumps- size 5 (similar HERE and HERE)
Ring: Custom Pink Gemstone Right Hand 14K gold ring- size 3 (similar HERE)
***Disclaimer- these ring images are unique and are the rights of and any use of these images will not be tolerated. Please ask permission if you'd like to use these pictures. Thanks!***

Clearly my favorite color is pink and this ring had to be custom made from scratch for my small fingers! I am size 3 finger! We petite women have to get clothes tailored and there's no small rings out there without it having sized or custom made!? What's up with that?:) This ring is my absolute favorite right hand ring. There are diamonds in all 3 rows and surrounding the beautiful pink oval gemstone.

Here are some other Petite Friendly Eight Sixty Dresses:

1. White eyelet Dress- comes in XS and is sooo pretty for Summer
2. Animal Print Party Dress- this is daring but very cute and comes in XS
3. Floral print 2-fer dress- this is almost identical to the one I am wearing

I am curious to see if their XS skirts will fit petites...?? I'm thinking if the XS dresses fit this small, maybe there is hope for the XS skirts perhaps? Has anyone tried this brand before?

Lookbook: Professional Complete Outfit for only $100

Who says you can't look good and feel good on a budget? Here is an outfit I put together for about $100 (and yes it includes the shoes and accessories)!!!
I am loving this new belt I got at H &'s tiny and fits my waist perfectly! And it adds a little something to a basic black dress.
Dress: H & M sheath dress- size 2, $34.95 (similar HERE and HERE)
Belt: H & M belt- size XS, $5.95 (similar HERE and HERE)
Shoes: BCBG patent pumps- size 5, $49.95 (on sale at Nordie's)
Close-up of the belt
I have this exact same H & M sheath dress in cream, see my previous post HERE. I loved the fit so much, I went on a mission to find the black one in a size 2 and I did!! YAY! There is actually a charcoal one in this style but I couldn't find it anywhere- I would have preferred the charcoal sheath dress since I already own the Banana Republic sheath dress (see my post HERE).
The entire outfit totals $102.80 (ok- I rounded down a few bucks for the sake of the post title). Not bad! I know H & M quality is not the greatest but this dress is actually made quite well. It's lined and the stitching is well done. And the best part- no tailoring expenses, whoo hoo! I love how the bust and waist area fits. And the neckline is so cute and not low cut so it's work/business appropriate. The cut on this dress definitely hugs your body and elongates a petite figure.

Petite Review: Ann Taylor Textured Jacquard Sheath Dress in Pale Iris- size 00p

I was super excited to get this Ann Taylor Sheath dress and it was sort of a flop that I found a 00p! It was sold out online but one day I happened to refresh it and there was a 00p waiting for me so I had no choice but to order and luckily I had the 40% which made the price tag much easier to swallow.
It's hard to tell but the color is a Pale Iris color.....
Dress: Ann Taylor Sheath Dress- size 00p
Shoes: Nine West Nude Pumps- size 5
Purse: Louis Vuitton Alma Handbag
Bracelet: Pink pearls (similar HERE)
These earrings are so dainty and goes with everything. The price is not bad and I get alot of use out of them. And I love leverback earrings because you don't have to worry about losing the backs of your earrings. Betsey Johnson makes some really cute earrings and the quality is good. I have 3 pairs that I wear constantly.
Here are the stock photos in both colors: Pale Iris and Blueberry

Pros: I love the color and the detail on the shoulder- makes it really unique and very feminine. The armholes are small and the shoulders and bust fit nicely. The length is very work appropriate and hits right at the knee.

Cons: The waist and hips of this dress are not as fitted as I normally like my sheath dresses. Sheath dresses are a way to really show off your curves and this one makes me feel very rectangular/boxy. The Jacquard fabric wrinkles very easily and is apparent in this light pale iris color. The blueberry would have hid it much better.

Here are other Ann Taylor Dresses I have my eyes on:

1. Ann Taylor Petite Cowl Neck Drap Dress- the color walrus is so pretty and this is a newer item so they still have XXS
2. Ann Taylor Petite Floral Sheath Dress- I am not a big fan of floral prints but this one is very pretty and very feminine, and they still have 00p
3. Ann Taylor Vintage Lace Dress- this one is so gorgeous and I definitely will want this on the next 40% off sale

Petite Review: Vince Cashmere Cardigan in Hot Pink

I have never owned any Vince pieces because they are so insanely expensive so this is my very first- pretty exciting! After seeing Alterations Needed's post here with her Vince purple cashmere cardigan in XS- I was inspired! When I happened to find this at Nordstrom Rack- I got so excited!  I never thought to pair 2 shades of any color together and have look so good! She has phenomenal taste! Here's my Vince hot pink cashmere cardigan paired with a lighter shade Ann Taylor Loft top underneath.....
Cashmere is so soft.....and I love the color hot pink...How could I resist?
Top: Ann Taylor Loft- size PXXS (similar HERE)
Cardigan: Vince hot pink Cashmere- size Small (similar HERE)
Skirt: Bebe Gray Pinstripe pencil skirt- size 0 (similar HERE)
Necklace: Gray Pearls
Purse: Chanel Grand Cavier Shopper Tote

The pro's to this sweater is the fact that it's the softest cardigan I own. It's made out of 100% pure cashmere so it feels so RIGHT!!! And the sleeves are 3/4 which is perfect.  Had it been a regular sleeve, I would have had to pass.  The ruching in the middle is makes it so unique and stands out from other normal cardigans. And where the cardigan hits the waist is a great length- not too long and not too short. You really can't beat the quality of a Vince cashmere cardigan.

The con's is that there was no XS which I would have preferred because the fit would have been much better but I just couldn't say no to this. How can anyone say no to hot pink cashmere?  I had to belt this cardigan so it wouldn't look so big on me.  The small is a bit wider than the XS as you can see in AN's post. Her XS fits much nicer and slimmer.

Lookbook: Bebe Chocolate Linen Belted Blazer

Do you ever have those days where you just cannot decide what to wear? And you end up gazing in your closet for what seems to be an eternity... that happens to me quite frequently.  Here's what I came up with. I paired a Bebe chocolate linen belted blazer with a Bebe brown houndstooth pencil skirt.
I love the fit of Bebe blazers. They are cut for tiny petites and it accentuates your curves. And the belt just cinches your waist and adds a cute accent. The sleeves are 3/4's with a slit- so cute.  Because the blazer is a Bebe 00- the belt actually fits- YAY!
Blazer: Bebe Linen Belted Jacket - size 00
Skirt: Bebe houndstooth pencil skirt- size 00
Necklace: Multi-colored brown pearls (similar HERE)
These brown multi-colored pearls are so pretty. A nice necklace always adds an extra something to your outfit. I am not a big accessory person but I try to find really good pieces that I can wear over and over.

Shop this look:
Linen Blazer:
1. Bebe Linen Blazer - I have had my eye on this one for months
2. Rampage Blazer- this is an afforadable alternative and oh so cute
3. BCX Belted Blazer - this is a very similar look to the one I am wearing (juniors brand)

1. Banana Republic Skirt- this one I am definitely getting in a 00
2. Ann Taylor LOFT- this is very petite friendly and comes in 3 diff. colors
3. New York & Co. - comes in 0 and other sizes, I can't attest to the fit but style is very simple and classy

Lookbook: More H & M petite finds

I wandered into H & M again this past weekend and they were having a huge sale. I bought this same top and same skirt in different colors - see my post here. I did manage to find this cute ruched shoulder blazer which luckily I have nothing like in my closet. Apparently I am obsessed with the color gray this season.
Jacket: H & M charcoal blazer- size 2 (similar here and here)
Top: H & M Ruffled shell- size XS (similar here and here)
Skirt: H & M dark grey pencil skirt- size 2 (here and here)
Shoes: BCBG leather peep toe pumps- size 5
These BCBG peep toe leather pumps are my latest and greatest find. I found them at Nordstrom Rack- which a bit of warning- the shoes that are at the Nordstrom Rack are usually blemished in some way so be very careful. I lucked out and found the patent and regular leather ones in a size 5 and both mates were in perfect condition.  I knew I had to get them both, even though they are identical except one is patent black and one is regular leather. When I slipped my foot into them, I just KNEW that they were the  perfect fit. And the heel height is so comfortable. Not too high and not too low- exactly what I need for work. So for any ladies out there that have trouble finding pumps that don't slip- these are it!
The only complaint I have about the skirt is that the lining is too long so it tends to peep out when you walk or while you are standing. Not sure why they chose to make a liner so long on these pencil skirts. I had the same issue w/the brown one like this in my previous post. I may have to sew it up a little higher.

The blazer is so cute but the sleeves are a tad bit long but I can get away with it since the arms are cut very small so it doesn't look baggy on me and it will save me on tailoring costs. My tailor is very expensive! The length is a perfect length for petites.

Shop this look:
1. Gap Gray Blazer- this is so affordable and very cute
2. TopShop Gray Blazer- the cut looks very petite friendly

1. Ann Taylor Gray pencil skirt- the pebble gray is so pretty
2. Anthropologie Ruched gray skirt- this is so darling and comes in 0 and 2

1. Theory Ruffle Black shell- this is a must have and I know it's of good quality
2. Ann Taylor LOFT ruffle shell- comes in 3 different colors and so cute

Petite Review: J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell- XXS

I was super excited to get my J.Crew items- all thanks to Extra Petite's post here on super sale items in XXS. That was such an awesome post! I wouldn't think to buy something that was non-petite sized but check out her post here where she tries on the shell in an XS. Thanks Extra Petite!:)  Here is the J.Crew light berry shell I paired with a Banana Republic Merino charcoal wool cardigan and a Italian Bebe charcoal skirt:
Here's w/the cardigan buttoned....
Here's the cardigan unbuttoned to show off the J.Crew Grand ruffle shell....
Top: J.Crew Grand ruffle shell in light berry- size XXS (was $42.50 now $24.99)
Sweater: Banana Republic Merino Wool Cardigan- size PXXS (similar here and here)
Skirt: Bebe Italian skirt- size 00 (similar here and here)
Shoes: Aldo Patent Pumps- size 5
J.Crew grand ruffle shell is still available in XXS in the following colors: light berrychalkslate,  and moroccan spice. This is a final sale so make sure you love it before making your purchase. But you better hurry because it will be gone! I lucked out and bought it during their sale before they made it a final sale so I can still return the colors I don't like. I will be returning the sweet guava and moroccan spice only because it doesn't make sense to keep all the colors even though I am quite tempted! I do love the chalk and slate and will definitely be keeping those! I'm sure you will see it in future posts:)
Here it is in slate

This J.Crew Grand ruffle shell fits really nicely! The XXS is surprisingly petite friendly. The arm holes aren't too big. The only complaint is that the length is a bit long if you want to tuck it in. I love to tuck in everything so with a fitted skirt- you may see some bulges but other than that- it's adorable and you can't beat the price!
Here it is in chalk

The Banana Republic merino wool cardigan is one of my favorite cardigans. It fits so nicely and made really well. I got it on super sale shortly after Winter and they still had a PXXS online- shocker. Most cardigans are too big- width wise so it sometimes can make me look frumpy but since this is cut for petites, it fits perfectly. I do have to cuff the sleeves but I actually like doing that.
I just love that there are so many petite bloggers and readers out there! It's so nice to have a way to share outfits, sales and ideas :) So thank you for everyone who blogs and for everyone who cares to read our blogs!!!

Lookbook: All cream Bebe skirt suit- size 00 and 0

This suit is so cute and I love how it's got a little pizazz to it. I had to hunt this one down as well because the 00's always sell out online so you have to call each store and track it down. I never thought I could pull off a "zippered" blazer but this one really caught my eye.
The blazer fits so nicely (with no alterations) and really shows off your curves. It's not a straight cut so it hugs your body.
Jacket: Bebe Blazer - size 0 (similar here and here)
Cami: Forever 21 purple cami- size XS
Skirt: Bebe skirt - size 00 (similar here and here)
Shoes: Nine West Nude Pumps- size 5
I wanted to show a close up on my nude pumps because I love them so much. They get so much wear that they were worth the investment. I am not a big fan of Nine West only because their size 5's differ and most of the time don't fit and hurt my feet but these were a great find.
Shop this look:

1. Ann Taylor Loft fitted Blazer - this one is so petite friendly and adorable
2. Banana Republic Blazer - cream pinstripe is too cute
3. Bebe Blazer - I love the fit of Bebe sizes because they are cut for petite women

1. Ann Taylor skirt - comes in 00 and 0 petites
2. Forever 21 cream skirt - so simple and XS's fit well on petites
3. Bebe Bone Skirt - this style and cut is so cute and very be dressy or casual

Petite Review: Part Deux of Outlet Store Finds

As promised in my last post, here are the other items I scored on Easter at the outlet stores. Here is the Banana Republic navy blue boatneck sweater and Banana Republic tweed skirt.
Sweater: Banana Republic Boat Neck Sweater - size PXS (similar here and here)
Skirt: Banana Republic Tweed Skirt- size 00P (similar here)
Shoes: Nine West Nude Peep Toe - size 5

I just love the fit and feel of this sweater! It's a very light material which I love because I can wear it in all seasons and wear it with jeans. The sleeves are so cute with a cuff at the end. I wish there were more in my size in different colors but a PXS was hard to find that was blemish free (common at the outlet stores). There were striped ones in different colors but I passed because I like solid colors and they are easier to match. The picture really makes it look strange- I promise it looks much cuter in person :)
The Banana Republic tweed skirt had a matching short sleeve tweed blazer but it didn't look right when I tried it on. So I ultimately passed which was pretty hard to do! The waist as I mentioned in my last post is a bit big for me but I think I can get away with it. Come to think of it- it's much bigger on me today- strange.  This is a 00p and the fit is not like of that in a normal BR store. So be careful!!! I had to examine all my finds very carefully because if you are rushed, you will end up with defective items (snags, rips, loose threads, stains). I probably shouldn't be wearing tweed in this season but heck- why not:) This is a possible return? Good thing I didn't go crazy and buy the entire suit which would have been a disaster.
Shop this look:

1. Gap Navy Blue Sweater - Gap always has nice sweaters- this one is very cute and versatile
2. J.Crew Boatneck Sweater- this one is almost identical to the one I am wearing
3. Forever 21 Navy Sweater- darling and an affordable alternative

1. Merona Tweed Skirt- so cute and dirt cheap
2. J.Crew Tweed Skirt- gorgeous color and pretty for Spring
3. The Limited Tweed Mini- this is on MAJOR sale and so adorable

So that's all my outlet finds! Not much but you have to be selective at the outlet stores because just because it says Banana Republic or Ann Taylor does not mean that it's the same quality or the same fit! If you can keep up w/the chaos and crowds of people, you may get lucky and find some good deals. Let me know what you think about this outfit!

Petite Review: Banana Republic & Theory Outlet Finds

I hardly ever go to the outlet stores but they were miraculously open on Easter so I decided to pop in and check out the sales. I have never been to the BR or Theory outlets before and both were having mega sales this past weekend. I only found a few is a Banana Republic belted sheath dress and a Theory Edyna Blazer.....
Here's with the Theory blazer on.....
Here's the Banana Sheath dress by itself.....
Jacket: Theory Edyna Blazer - size 00 (similar here and here )
Dress: Banana Republic Sheath Dress- size 00p (similar here )
Earrings: Lia Sophia gray gemstone chandelier (similar here )

I was pretty excited to find these two items!!! Both fit PERFECTLY with no alterations needed!!! YAY! The Theory Edyna Blazer was a great find. I was bummed that there was no matching skirt or pants because I typically like to buy suits as a whole but I had no other choice and I squealed when I found a 00 and got an extra 25% off! I couldn't find any other good deals or any 00's left but I was happy with this score. The sleeves are the right length which saves me on tailoring costs- I'm sold!

Shop this look:

Black Sheath Dresses:
1. Ann Taylor Dress - this I know is petite friendly- I tried it on and looks really nice
2. BCBGeneration Sheath Dress - I have several BCBGeneration dresses in XS and they fit quite nicely and this is on major sale

1. Bebe Linen Blazer - this is oh so cute and the cut is very nice
2. Ann Taylor Blazer - comes in 00p and 0p

Banana Republic was very interesting to say the least! I realized that the quality and sizes of Banana Republic factory stores is not the same as the normal BR stores! I tried on numerous suits and skirts and I was shocked that the quality was not up to par and the 00p skirts DID NOT fit like they should! They were HUGE on first- I thought maybe I was hungry and hadn't eaten all day but that can't be!! The blazers I found in 00p felt so cheap and thin! I did manage to find one really nice boat neck navy blue sweater in PXS and a blue and white tweed skirt in 00p that was so cheap, I could hardly pass it up. The waist is still a bit too big but it matched my new sweater for a complete ensemble so I was quite jazzed!

This belted sheath dress in 00p was a major score and with an extra 40% off, I couldn't resist. The belt detail is so cute and adds dimension to the dress which I really like and makes your waist appear even smaller. The material is very nice and the arm holes were perfect. The length hits right at the knee so it's very professional and a good length for work.  I like that I can wear this dress alone or with a blazer- depending on the weather. I just love a simple black sheath dress- very elegant and timeless.

Lookbook: Simple and Chic

Sometimes I just feel like putting on a very classic and almost plain work outfit. Simple and clean. Black and white is one of my favorite combinations. It'll never go out of style and is just chic looking.
Just a simple Ann Taylor Sweater paired with a classic Banana Republic pencil skirt.....
And yes - the sleeves on the white sweater is a little ruched...:) I can't help myself! I am a sucker for those type of sleeves!
Here is a pic of the model to show you the difference. I really don't think the stock photo does the pencil skirt any justice!!! I'm not saying I look better in it- it's just looks really big and not as flattering as it really is  in real life.
Top: Ann Taylor Loft sweater- size PXXS (similar here or here )
Shoes: Aldo patent leather pumps- size 5 (similar here and on major sale)
Purse: Chanel Grand Shopper Tote (similar here )
Earrings: Chanel Diamante LOGO (similar here )
These are not the exact ones I am wearing or have worn in my previous post but it's pretty similar and oh so pretty!!! I just LOVE everything Chanel- so classy and will never ever go out of style.
