Lookbook: H & M Ruched Mauve Skirt and H & M Gray Tights in XS

Tiny skirt alert again! This is a mauve ruched skirt I just recently bought at H & M and love it! It's teeny weeny so it's perfect for petites! It's more of a casual/going out skirt but it fits like a glove and I can wear it in all seasons! Anyone who is my size or even smaller- you definitely have to check this skirt out! The color is super pretty and you can pair it with tights! I included the tag as a reference below:)

Top: H & M Ruched Tee- size XS (similar HERE in XS and HERE)
Skirt: H & M Ruched Mauve Skirt- size 2 (similar HERE and HERE)
Tights: H & M Divided Dk. Grey Tights- size XS (similar HERE and HERE)

I am so happy I found these gray tights along with this skirt because all I wear in Fall/Winter are skirts and dresses! These tights are just perfect because I love the grey color and it's a nice change from black. And it's not too opaque which I prefer!

Review: Menuet Designs Flower and Pearl Necklace

The best part about blogging is coming in contact with some really great companies and designers! One of which is Menuet Designs. The name Menuet refers to a classical courtly dance from Europe which dates back to the 1700's. They currently sell their beautiful jewelry on HERE. I was honored when contacted by them to do a review on one of their gorgeous pieces.  Before agreeing to do a review on this designer, I checked out all the pieces and really fell in love with this particular necklace- the Flower and Pearl Necklace. Most readers know I LOVE pearls and pearl necklaces and this is definitely something I would add to my wardrobe. It's dainty, feminine and just so ME! I was fortunate enough to be able to pick an item that I thought best represented me and my blog. And I knew that if I loved it as much, then most readers would be just as excited!

Lookbook: LOFT Pleated Tweed Sheath Dress- Size 00p (And YouTube Video Review)

I have realized something about LOFT dresses! Most of the time, when I see them on the hanger in-store or online, they don't look as cute but when I actually bring them home and try it on, it always look better on! That's happened with my  petite cowl neck sweater dress and the petite patterned flutter shift dress I got about 2 weeks ago. And I love both of them! This post will include a video and stylebook pictures:)
Dress: LOFT Pleated Tweed Sheath Dress - size 00p (sold HERE)

Mixing High End Designers with Affordable Brands

Most readers know that I don't ever pay full price (with the exception for Chanel, Christian Louboutin's and Louis Vuitton) and I love a bargain! Who doesn't love a great deal? I always shop the sale racks and wait for discounts, coupon codes or anyway to save a buck! Another way I save money is through ebates- sign up here to get cash back on your online purchases!
Dress: F21 Blue Lace dress (similar HERE)
Belt: Brown Leather Twisted skinny belt- XS
Pumps: Ann Taylor Porcini Pumps-size 5 (sold HERE)

A high end brand I love is Louis Vuitton. I got the LV Alma handbag late last year. It's shape is iconic and dates back to the 1930's. I love how it holds it's shape when sitting or when being carried. Some of the LV speedy bags don't hold its shape- especially when carried which I am not a big fan of. I like to carry my Alma handbag when shopping so my shoulders aren't weighed down and the size of this bag can hold so much! I love that I can wear it with a casual outfit or a nice suit for work and it just looks so classy!

LOFT Haul and 50% off in-store now!

I just bought a bunch of stuff last week at 40% off in-store and now they have 50% so I am hoping to sneak in there tomorrow again!!! Here is what I got last week, the day after I got back from vacation because I just couldn't resist! So glad I did! Here is what I found:
Top: LOFT Cascade Ruffle Floral Shell- size XXSP (sold HERE
$7.64 after discounts
Skirt: H & M Grey Wool Skirt- size 2

This is a top from Summer- see it on Petite XXS here. Not sure if she ended keeping it but she has really good luck with finding tiny sizes! I would have never bought this but I got it for $7.64 after all discounts. I even signed up for a LOFT card which gave me an additional 15% off on top of the 40% - I figured it was about time. I about squealed in the store when I saw XXSP on the sale rack.

Getting Personal: Bora Bora Vacation Part 1 & YouTube Slideshow

I  can always tell how well my vacation goes by how many pictures I take. I took over 1500 while in Bora Bora! I went crazy just taking pictures of everything and anything! It was so hard to select which ones to share so first I will share pics that hubby was gracious enough to take of me and then I will do a separate post with the bungalow and scenery:)  We left on October 1st and came back on the 12th. Twelve days of pure bliss! We stayed at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui. More on the hotel later....
This is at sunset right before dinner- the background looks fake. It was surreal!

Petite Tailoring: Banana Republic Martin Wool Pants in 00P

It's a rarity that I wear pants but I bought 2 pairs of wool Banana Republic pants last Winter and they have been sitting in my closet waiting to be tailored. I finally got myself to get them tailored and  am NOT loving the fit. It makes me look really big and wide.....so I am confirming that there is NO HOPE for me and pants!
Top: Forever 21 Taupe Blouse- size XS (similar HERE)
Pants: Banana Republic Wool Martin- size 00P (similar HERE)
Shoes: AldoPatent Pumps- size 35 (similar HERE)
I was almost not going to even write a post on this because I was so frustrated but hopefully by sharing my experiences, it will help another petite:)

Blogger Blues: Venturing Out To Free People

I don't know if it's just me but I am getting bored with the same brands for petites. It's either Ann Taylor, LOFT, Banana Republic petites, J.Crew petites, ASOS petites, H & M or Bebe. The same old brands over and over again. I want another brand to try on and excite me! So I have been scouring the internet for just anything. When I visited my family in the Midwest, my sister-in-law had on a cute Free People dress and it fit her really well and she's tiny just like me.
Read Across Dress (comes in XS)
Free People's style is not for everyone and for many years, I wouldn't have even given it a second glance. But now that I have seen it on someone who is petite and it looked so cute (thanks sis-in-law), it's worth giving a shot.

Finding The Right Pair of Boots

Finding the right pair of boots for petite's is extremely difficult and frustrating. I have always had trouble finding boots with the correct shaft height and calf circumference. I don't have the narrowest legs but they are short and my calves measure 12" which make it very hard for me to find the perfect pair of boots. I did some research and wanted to pass the info along to the petite community!

Before last winter when I went on a crazy hunt for boots, I had no idea what shaft height meant or how to measure your calves. This chart is very helpful! So needless to say, I was wearing the wrong everything!

Part 1: 5 Petite Staples You Must Have In Your Closet

I got an email from a reader asking what are the things I must have in my wardrobe - especially for someone who is starting out their career. I am sure it's different for everyone but I wanted to share the top things I believe are staples that every petite woman must have in their wardrobe.

#1. The first is a nice, well tailored pant/skirt suit. I much prefer skirt suits. I had to dig into my blog archives to pull up some old photos so sorry if they are not great
IMG_5200The first is my infamous Theory Gratian Lecture Tweed skirt suit that I almost had a heart attack finding! I had to get the entire suit tailored because it was a 0- the 00's were sold out right away. I can only wear this in Fall/Winter but nonetheless- love it!  The second suit is a Bebe gray pinstripe skirt suit that I literally had to hunt down the 00. I got it last winter and love it so much and wear it often. It fits so perfectly with NO alterations and I got the entire suit for about $125 on sale. Love the fact that I can wear this year-round making this a great investment for me!
