My First BB Dakota Purchases: Groton Tweed Skirt and Herringford Tweed Jacket

I've always been curious about this brand but never really found anything that I have liked enough to make a purchase. I recently bought this BB Dakota tweed blazer from a lovely petite named R.L from AN's forum. I was really nervous about the fit but decided to give it a shot. And boy was I glad I did!!! I love it! Thanks so much R.L!! :)

I really didn't need another tweed blazer but for some reason, my heart told me to get it and the price was do-able at $35.  When I got it and tried it on, I couldn't believe how tiny it was! The sleeves are super long (cuffed them up for pics) and at first I was going to just leave them but after getting it and loving it so much, I may just spend the money to take the sleeves up. I can't stand ill fitting sleeves.

You can also see this on Kileen from Tiny and Cute and Liane from PetiteXXS. For anyone who is a size up from me- even just a bit, may not fit this because this jacket runs really  narrow. So it's great for someone my size or smaller:)

The length is perfect for me! And shockingly the fabric and zipper were well constructed. I was expecting F21 quality but it was really heavy and everything was perfect. This jacket reminds me so much of my Forever 21 tweed zip up blazer that I sold last year because it was so wide and boxy. You can wear this jacket unzipped but I much prefer it zipped for a better silhouette.

And here is my BB Dakota Groton Skirt.... I have a feeling I will get a lot of wear out of this little mini tweed skirt:)

When I saw this BB Dakota Groton tweed skirt, I feel in love. I have been wanting a beige-ish tweed skirt never found it. It's always black/white tweed you see. I was hesitant to buy it only because I was afraid it wasn't going to fit but after seeing that Jean from Extra Petite said the waist fit her, I knew there was hope for me.  You can see her post here. So I found the last size 0 (I think) online and asked them to price match ModCloth's dirt cheap sale price of $26.99 and much to my surprise, they said yes! I was so excited! It never hurts to ask right? You don't get what you don't ask for so make sure to always ask if online retailer's will price match- the worst they can say is no! You can also see this skirt on Aubrey from ProudlyPetite.

I was shocked to see how tiny the waist is. There is still about 1" for me in the waist which is nice because I can eat a full meal and still not be uncomfortable. I love the length- it's not micro mini but it's shorter than my normal hemline. I probably can get away with this at my office if I wear tights. I don't think it's to the point where it would be "too scandalous" for me to pull off. The only side to this skirt for me is that it's unlined but so far, the tweed hasn't made me itchy:)

I don't think any size 0's are left but I would suggest having Zappos alert you if your size comes back in stock HERE. If you are a larger than me, you may need to size up. I found this BB Dakota Tweed coat and think it's adorable. Will have to do a little more research to see if they carry XS.

What are your thoughts on my new BB Dakota blazer and skirt?
