Lookbook & Video: Ann Taylor Chambray Shirt and How to Style a Pearl Necklace

Everyone knows I love pearls and wear them almost everyday to work. So I thought I’d put together a quick video of different ways to style a pearl necklace. I’m sure there are more ways then what I showed but these are just some ideas. Hope you enjoy:) You can subscribe to my YouTube Channel HERE.

Of course, I forgot one more style which I wore in my last stylebook post HERE. You can tie a knot in the pearls for another look!

Since I am not really a casual person, I thought I’d dress this chambray shirt up to wear to work on casual Fridays. I paired it with this really old hot pink Forever 21 skirt in the spirit of Spring and Summer.

I took a photo inside my house to compare to the outdoor photos..which do you like better?

This chambray shirt fits perfectly everywhere. It’s cut almost like it was tailored for me! I love that there is no bunching in the back when tucked in (pet peeve).

Ah…yes I dragged my gorgeous beige Chanel on this photo shoot. I even brought the dust bag…hehehehe

Excuse the J.Crew belt riding up…it’s a size small (too big for me) which  I found yesterday along with a few other colors, if anyone is interested. *update*
I have 2 green and 1 gold size small available! Only ONE green left!
Thanks again Vicky for letting us know about these:)

This is my first real attempt at taking photos in public. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. Although lugging my tripod and all my camera items into my non-existent trunk in my car was a bit of a challenge.

Trying to change up the photos here so you guys don’t get bored with me..I swear I must be the only person that looks weird when I am NOT smiling. I try to do a “serious” face but just doesn’t work:)

Keep in mind, it was almost 90 degrees and I was trying not to sweat through my shirt:) See Jean try this shirt on here or her Target version here

Okay I switched shoes for this photo…I am wearing my ALDO nude pumps which I still love but they kill my feet.
**Update**
How funny, Vicky from VickysFashion also did a post on this chambray shirt the same day. She is so adorable! See her outfit here🙂
Anyone else pick up this Ann Taylor chambray shirt?

  1. Wow, I wish I owned that skirt….and I really want a shirt like that…this is the perfect spring outfit!

  2. Love your outdoor pictures! You look fabulous in the hot pink skirt!

btw would you be willing to sell your size S jcrew belt to me? <3

  3. Awww, I'm at work (heehe shhh) so can't watch the video but I'm really adoring the outfit! The chambray is settled for a great casual outfit, I like how it doesn't wrinkle and it fits you very nicely. I should have bought the belt puncher while everyone was blogging about it! Coulda bought some Jcrew belts in size S if I did. =0(

  4. your outdoor pics are beautiful!! i agree that lugging the tripod and camera around in the car is kinda a pain, but it's so worth it (for me at least) cause it's fun to change up the photo location. i love this chambray shirt on you and am itching to pick one up for myself! but i'm actually trying not to spend any more money for the rest of the month as i'm already so over budget… 🙂

and i can't wait to watch the video when i get home!

    cute & little

  5. I love this outfit! Before reading many blogs, I had a misconception that the chambray shirt was urgh but after seeing it on you and Jean, I have changed my mind.

I agree that Aldo has some cute shoes but they are very uncomfortable. I have yet to find a manageable pair.

  6. Great video, Annie! I love the vintage pin idea. Also, your editing was great – very direct and informative, a la Jean!

What a feminine, ferocious pencil skirt! RAWR

  7. Wow, 90 degrees already! We're in the high 60s and low 70s right now which I love 🙂

Love the outdoor photos – especially the peach background – such a pretty color! Also love the pearls + cameo and thanks for the video!

  8. Can't wait to go home and watch your video.

Outdoor pics are great and different. I like how you style that shirt. I wish I had a courage and a babysitter to venture out for outdoor pictures. It would be impossible to lug a camera, a tripod and a toddler while maintaining my sanity lol.

  9. Really cute pink skirt Annie! I know what you mean about non-smiling pictures!! I always feel like I look weird too! For the record, I think you look fine but I can def relate 🙂

  10. I love your outdoor photos! Great job on all the variety. And I like the outfit too. The chambray shirt looks so good with the pink.

  11. I LOVE your hot pink skirt! As much fun as it is to wear new purchases, you should wear your old items more often! It looks great with the shirt.

More outdoor shot please! The lighting in your house is pretty good, but nothing beats natural light 🙂

  12. @Banhannas Hanna!! I just recently got my belt hole puncher at Michael's with a 50% coupon thx to AubreyOhDang!! And I'm waiting for my XS belts to arrive so I'm selling my sz smalls:)

  13. @Erin oh Erin..so kind to me!! I appreciate ur comment but I look so weird when I'm not smiling..I think that's because I'm so happy that I look mad when I'm not..lol

  14. Super Cute!I love the skirt, glad you didn't donate it.

I also dress up my necklaces with a pin too. But sometimes I like to pin it onto my clothes just so the pin won't flip backwards and keep my necklace from getting tangle with whatever I am doing. Between you have a gorgeous home from what I can see =)

  15. I looove the pink skirt! I love both inside and out door photos. I love the photos you took last summer out by your pool area, soo nice!

  16. You look fabulous in that pink skirt! I can't believe it's F21! You really know how to make everything look so chic and sophisticated! I like the outdoor shots, but that indoor lighting you have is fantastic!

  17. Annie, I LOVE the outdoor photos! 🙂 Great colors together in your outfit too!

  18. You look beautiful in these pictures Annie…and I see where a lot of your readers prefer the outdoor pics, but I like the indoors just as well 😉 I tried the AT chambray shirt in xxsp too and it just didn't fit right….felt really boxy, I'm not sure exactly what was off with it but suffice it to say I didn't get it…..I am loving it on you for sure though!!!

  19. Oh Annie, you look so pretty in Chambray and pink! I love the outdoor pictures! 🙂 90 degrees though? While you were there sweater bullets, I was freezing my brain out. The temperature dropped to the 40s (high) here last weekend and I had to sit outside for over an hour to watch Tristan's soccer game.

  20. i think you did fabulous taking outdoor pics on your own! i just need to buy my remote and i can try to do the same, hehe. but your indoor shots are fabulous! amazing lighting 🙂

i love my aldo pumps, but none are good for my feet!

    your outfit is beyond beautiful!!!
