Fitting Room: LOFT 40% off select knits and tees

The new winner is DSKJewelry! Please contact me to claim your prize:)

**Regarding my last vintage cameo giveaway, I am so sorry but I had to re-draw a new winner because there were 3 people who claimed the prize. Because there was no last name, I was not able to verify who the correct person was. I feel terrible:( Will announce the new winner tomorrow!)**
Plum1
Split neck long sleeve blouse -XXSP
(in cordovan, also avail in ivory)
Sorry for the terrible iPhone pics. This blouse is gorgeous in person and looks way better in-person than it does on the model. At first glance online, it looks "meh" but when I put it on, I loved it! The best part is, you get the "blouse" look and feel w/out the annoying peep-hole with the button-ups.
Verdict: Purchased (also want the ivory)
leopard1
Mysterious animal print split neck blouse- XXSP
The fit wasn't too bad but didn't love it and it was not on sale. Definitely has potential.
Verdict: Passed
Flutter strips shell - XXSP (currently 40% off)
Not that I need more shells but I liked that this was made out 100% cotton (super soft). I think it would look nice for work.
Verdict: Purchased
ruffledress
Textured wool blouson dress- XXSP
Still a bit roomy and I probably wouldn't get enough use out of this.
Verdict: Passed
Faux fur collar sweater vest- XXSP
This is adorable and the fit is perfect. Still full priced so will wait for a sale.
Verdict: Passed but will stalk

So I walked out w/the following:
- Flutter strips shell in warm iron $44.50  w/40% off = $26.70
(also have in wild olive)  $44.50 w/40% off = 26.70
______________________________________________________
Total = $102.90 - $50 in rewards cards = $52.90

Here is what I am looking to order online:
- Boatneck striped tee in eggplant = $21.90 after 40%off
- Double layer trim cardigan in olive melange (comes in 8 colors) = $29.70 after 40% off

Only select knits and tees qualify for the 40% off so make sure to double check in-store with the cashier. There is no code needed online. If anyone has the $25 Loft rewards cards (this was a promo a couple of weeks ago for every $50 you spent, you got $25 in rewards), you only have until 10/2 to use them up!

As you can probably tell, I love me some dresses! Do you ever find yourself gravitating towards the same items over and over? I sometimes find myself wearing the same item repeatedly and have to figure out ways to come up with different looks so people don't think I am wearing the same things. Are you tired of seeing my gold necklace yet? : ) I am loving this brown tweed dress for Fall and think the cut on this textured houndstooth dress could possibly be cute.
IMG_7033.jpg
Also on a random note, I hope people don't get bored with my blog because my style doesn't really change much. I don't jump on the trend wagon too much merely for the sake of blogging. I blog about outfits that I really do wear in real life and not what's hot or in at the moment. If there are things you would like to see post about, any suggestions would be welcomed! There are tons of cute trends that I love but know I won't really wear them so it doesn't make it to a post. I know, I am boring! I'm trying my best to get outside of my box but it's a work in progress :)

**The winner of the vintage Peri cameo giveaway is Ana! Please email me to claim your prize and provide me with your info!**
To be fair, I am forced to re-draw because there was no last name provided and there are 3 different people claiming to be the winner:(

Bloggers: Do you really wear what you blog about or do you blog about the latest trends?

Readers: What would you like to see me in? More pants/jeans? More casual attire?

IMG_6805.jpg
I've been obsessed with J.Crew's about town dress ever since I saw it on Vicky and poor thing has been helping me stalk the website but with no luck. I've wanted a nautical dress this whole Summer but haven't found one that fits and is a decent price.
IMG_6854.jpg
IMG_6782.jpg
Luckily for blogs (or is it trouble?) because I saw this F21 tunic on Elle and went on the hunt for it the same night. (and broke my in-store shopping hiatus after 24 hrs.) It's supposed to be a tunic but on a petite, the length is perfect!
The material sucks but the fit is great and for $9.50, who can really complain? I finally succumbed to getting this H & M cross body after seeing it on Jean. I needed a small, brown purse that I could beat on and not have to worry about damaging. It's great for running errands and shopping hands-free and I don't have to panic when I'm eating or in the fitting rooms.
IMG_6875.jpg

This is a great casual date night outfit that is affordable and extremely comfortable. I have now satisfied my craving for a striped nautical dress. Even though it's now Fall, it's still super hot in CA so maybe I can sneak a few more outfits out of this one:)

This is a typical work outfit for me and what I wore yesterday. I still can't believe I scored this AT necktie silk shell for $15 awhile back. It was a major score! I am trying to re-mix my old clothes so I won't feel the need to constantly go shopping:)

IMG_6551.jpg
I was on a less than 24 hour in-store shopping diet when I was forced to go find this striped nautical tunic (see on Elle). It's not the best quality but it fits great and for $9.50, I can't complain!!!

Wanting Now: Fall Finds

Cropped Mustard Pea Coat (also comes in several diff. colors)
If you follow me on Twitter, you would have heard that I am on a shopping in-store diet for a bit. So to satisfy my hunger for shopping, I will be doing a lot of shopping online. I wanted to share with you some cute items I found recently. Yes I am still yearning for a mustard coat! I thought this cropped one was adorable but unsure of how petite friendly it is. I am currently stalking the J.Crew mustard to go on sale. Many of you have asked if it's cold enough in CA for a coat and the answer is, definitely yes! It snowed (rare but it does) last year so I'd say a coat is necessary. Not a heavy coat but it gets down to the low 30's and I am freezing when it hits 60 degrees :)
I have been on the hunt for a pink belt for awhile now but haven't found just the right one. I am eying this one am waiting for a good sale. Hope the XS fits like the Ann Taylor perfect patent ones!
If you are into colored denim, these are super cute! And if I was a shorts type of girl, I would order these mustard wool shorts in a heart beat.  And LOFT is having buy 1 top or sweater and get any 2nd one 50% off. My picks are this shell with bow tie in milk white , this striped epaulette sweater and this shall collar wool sweater jacket.

Alrighty, that's it for me!  Happy Monday and hope everyone has a great week! :) Oh by the way, I ordered my first sewing machine! YAY! Hope you will join me  on my adventure in learning how to sew! I'm not looking to do anything spectacular, just learn a few basics so I don't have to vomit every time I go to the tailor's.

How to: get rid of/remove sweater fuzz balls (Evercare Fabric Shaver)

Do you have sweaters that have those annoying fuzz balls near the armpit where your purse rubs? Or from many washes, sweaters will accumulate these un-attractive fuzzies!? I have a ton and they are so annoying! My sister sent me this fabric shaver as a gift and swears by it. I was so excited to share this with everyone! I have so many gorgeous sweaters that get ruined by these stupid fuzz balls.

I tested it out on an old sock first just to make sure I got the hang of it before using it on a sweater. I highly advise you do this first so you don't ruin any of your favorite sweaters (especially cashmere or silk blends). My sister used it on one of her Ann Taylor silk blend cardigans and it caused a hole so be careful!
IMG_6397.jpg
You will need 2 AA batteries (I use re-chargeables). It's super easy to use. Click the on button and remove the clear plastic cover and start shaving those pesky fuzz balls. Warning: don't be over zealous and go fast or else you may ruin your sweater! Just graze the top part of the sweater gently. **Update- if you have a dress form, it works really well when the sweater is on the actual dress form. It makes it easier to maneuver.**
IMG_6400.jpg
The fuzz goes into the little tray (blue part of unit). When you are done, slide out the tray and throw away the fuzz! Be sure to give the whole unit and the tray a good wipe down with a paper towel or cloth just to keep it looking nice and pretty:) It also comes with a adorable, tiny brush to sweep extra debris off.

Here's two of my Vince cashmere sweaters:
I did some research and the cheapest place to get this EverCare fabric shaver is CVS online. It's only $3.99 but I checked several local stores and they all looked at me like a crazy Asian girl wanting to shave off sweater fuzz balls? Try explaining that to a cashier... :D The Container store also carries it for $7.99 and Amazon.com carries it for $4.99 but you need $25 for free ship. I saw tons of cheap generic Chinese ones on Ebay but I don't have experience with them so I am not recommending those.
IMG_6427.jpg
All in all, I LOVE my new fabric shaver! My sister is the best! I've been looking in hubby's closet to find items to shave! I love my new toy! I know I am a dork!!! Now all my sweaters are back to being brand new!

Readers: Do you own a fabric shaver?

Zara double breasted mustard coat- XS

IMG_6379.jpg
Coat: Zara - size XS
Dress: ASOS pencil dress- size 2p
Shoes: Ann Taylor perfect pumps- size 5 (buy here)

It was 92 degree's when I shot these photos so if I look like I am suffering from heat stroke, it's because I am! The things we go through for blog photos! Do you see what I do for you ladies? :) You can see a full review from Sydney. I don't want to bore you with the same details but wanted to show you how it looked on someone a bit shorter.
IMG_6353.jpg
Positives: I like the length of the coat. It's very petite friendly. The width fits nicely when buttoned.
Negatives: Color is NOT mustard. More of a goldish/yellow more than a true mustard color. The sleeves are too long (cuffed them up several inches). Price is a bit steep for quality.
IMG_6384.jpg
Yes I probably should have worn a shorter dress for the sake of this post but it was last minute and I wanted to try out my ASOS dress (which is going back). It's a bit too roomy on the bottom for me.
IMG_6394.jpg
Verdict: Return. It's not a 100% of what I am looking for so if anyone is interested in it before I return, please let me know! I think I will hold out for a mustard J.Crew coat!

Did anyone else have luck with ordering from Zara?

Review: Ann Taylor Petite Ponte Trousers

***Ann Taylor is having 40% off everything, no coupon needed!***
IMG_6122.jpg
Top: Ann Taylor ruffle shell (similar here and here)
Pants: Ponte Slim Trousers- size 00P
Cardigan: Ann Taylor leopard - XXSP (similar here and here)
Purse: Chanel m/l
Necklace/Earrings: Pearls from Mom

When Ann Taylor offered me a $100 to try out one of their new pants, I obviously couldn't turn it down! I am always on the hunt for the perfect pair with minimal to no alterations. I was pleasantly surprised that the waist and butt fit! I usually have take in the waist, slim the hips and mess with the butt area to make it look and fit right.
IMG_6044.jpg

IMG_6037.jpg
See Kelly wearing the slim knit pants in 00P, Jean in the city fit and Sydney's review on the slim knit pants in 0P. At first, I thought I had ordered the same pair as Kelly and Sydney, and then as I was writing this post, realized it's a totally different pair! I am such a nerd! :)
IMG_6110.jpg
FIT/SIZE: Sits really low on your waist. Measures 13.5" across, inseam is 30". The butt and waist fits nicely and it's slim cut throughout the legs. Definitely elongates short legs:)  The only complaint is that they are way too long (about 1-2 inches for someone my height). It's a 30" inseam and I prefer 29" for this style of pants because I like them a little longer than my regular inseam of 28". I like the back welt pockets- makes it dressier. And the curtain waistband with belt loops is a nice detail.

MATERIAL/CARE: 68% Rayon, 28% nylon, 4% spandex. Dry clean only. I like the heavier and dressier material. Doesn't wrinkle so it's great for long days at the office or traveling.

PRICE: $98

VERDICT: Would recommend. It's a classic pair that is very versatile for work.

I also ordered the slim knit pants in graphite gray hoping they would be a great alternative to black pants but the material was too casual for my taste. I just realized my entire outfit is from Ann Taylor..hahahaha!

Readers- which pants have you tried from Ann Taylor?

**Disclaimer: The $100 gift card was a gifted to me from Ann Taylor to try out a pair of their pants. I am not affiliated with Ann Taylor.
