Remix: Mustard H & M Sweater and Tall Cognac Boots

IMG_9185.jpg
Sweater: H & M divided- size 2 (similar here)
Jeans: Gap legging- size 00P (buy here)
I had several requests to show these boots un-cuffed so here they are! They work really nicely tucked in with jeans and I couldn't be more happier with them! They are pretty comfortable considering they are a higher heel than I normally wear but the chunky heel helps : )
IMG_9228.jpg
Boots: Nordstrom's Halogen - size 4.5 (buy here)
IMG_9253.jpg
Crossbody/Clutch: H & M (similar here or adorable/cheap)
Ring: YSL arty in lapis - size 4 (buy here)
IMG_9276.jpg
I really wish I had some cute bracelets/arm candy to add to this outfit but I have none. If you have any suggestions, please do share.  I can't seem to find any that will fit. I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!

30% off Banana Republic Women's Style Plus 10% Back With Ebates

After this post and very costly alterations, I swore off Banana Republic pants completely. I ended up giving both pairs to my sister. A reader (thanks Karri) told me that BR has changed their sizing this season and requires no alterations!  She's almost the exact same size as me so I have been waiting and waiting for a decent sale. I ordered these striped ones and this grey melange (both in 00P) to review for you guys. I am so excited and hope they will work out! I would love to add diversity to my wardrobe and throw some pants in the mix. I only have 2 pairs from LOFT right now. This sale is NOT that great at 30% (use code: BRTAKE30 - online and ends 10/31 at Noon) but with 10% back through Ebates, sign up here with my referral link, it certainly helps! This weekend, they have 40% in-store's but my local BR sucks and never has anything good or any tiny sizes.

Here's your chance to pick up the dancing bead necklace which I love (see post). My other suggestions are:

- Short fitted camel coat (I like how this sounds..petite friendly perhaps?)
- Textured sweater blazer  (how adorable is this?)
- Boatneck elbow patch pullover (comes in several colors)

Anyone buy anything?

H & M Cobalt Blue and Mustard

IMG_8965.jpg
Top: H & M *recent* - size 2 (similar here or adorable neck tie or pleated)
Skirt: Modcloth - size Small (similar dress version)
Belt: H & M *extra holes punched* - size XS (similar here or cheapie)
IMG_8982.jpg
Shoes: Ann Taylor - size 5 (buy here and matching belt)
IMG_9003.jpg
Necklace: C/O Naomi for Stella & Dot - (buy here)
Ring: YSL arty- size 4 (buy here)

I usually stay away from button-ups only because I can't stand the pulling around the chest area but this one fits really nicely. The length is long enough I can wear it casually with leggings and it covers the butt.  The width is really narrow which is great news for petites! It's not bunchy when tucked in like most button-ups. I love the rolled up button sleeves- so cute! I know this is more of a casual top but I'm a dressy type of girl so I like to dress up my casual tops and make it work for a business environment.
IMG_9021.jpg
I've been really into cobalt blue for the past several months. Love my YSL arty ring in lapis (order direct from YSL.com if you need a size 4) and re-ordered my ASOS pencil dress (cobalt blue) in regular sizing and got it hemmed.

Isn't my new necklace pretty? I love it! Haven't seen anything like it. If you are interested, you can "like" Naomi's FB page for 20% off : )

Anyone else buy this blouse?

**Disclaimer- The necklace was given to me as a courtesy from Naomi for Stella & Dot

Perfect Fall Layers and Boots

IMG_9085.jpg
Sweater: Old Navy - size XS (buy here) **only $4 in stores**
Shirt: Ann Taylor - size 00P (buy this year's version or similar here)
Skirt: H & M - size 2 (similar here)
Boots: Halogen Nordstrom's - size 4.5 (buy here or in black)

This outfit was inspired by Khatu (one of my fave bloggers). She is the queen of layering- see her outfit here. I was giggling to myself as I was taking pics for this post and then decided to re-take it w/my new boots. Cee (another fave blogger) is also amazing at layering. I have no idea how these ladies do it because I personally suck at layering. It's definitely a learning process! : )
IMG_9056.jpg
See this striped sweater in black/white on Kelly and green/black on Jean. For only $8 (now $4 in store- thanks Sydney), I picked up this tan/pink along with the black/white one.
IMG_9095.jpg
I was elated when I found these boots on Nordstrom's while online shopping before bed (my nightly ritual). They almost met all of my criteria but I knew the circumference was going to be a tad bit too big (1" in to be exact). See Jean's review here. I was afraid that the ankles would be too baggy but I think these will do. I ordered the 4.5 and 5 in both black and "chocolate" (more of cognac than chocolate) to see which would fit better because I swear my feet are slowly shrinking. I ended up keeping the 4.5's because even with socks, they fit much better.
IMG_9114.jpg
To combat the too wide of circumference, I folded the boots down by a little over an inch thus making the circumference 12" and the shaft height 12" as well. For tucking in skinny jeans, I like the shaft height just the way it is at 13 1/4". Some may disagree with this but I personally prefer it this height for skirts.
IMG_9081.jpg
I absolutely love the color and these are the closest things I could find. See my post last year for how to find the right boots. The leather is nice and soft - not stiff like most boots thus making them foldable.  After many failed attempts last year for boots, these are 95% of what I'm looking for especially now that I can cuff them when wearing with bare legs and skirts.

P.S. The winner of the Forever 21 earrings is natashaufl! Please contact me to claim your prize! :)
Readers - what are your thoughts on these boots?

Pursuit for the Perfect Booties

**Update**
Just found and ordered these:

Also comes in black (avail in 4.5, 5, and 5.5)

I have been searching and scouring the internet/stores for the perfect pair of booties (ankle boots) for the longest time. It has to be the perfect silhouette (shaft can't be too high past the ankle), heel height (3-3.5") and toe (almond toe). I wanted something that I could wear casually as well as with tights to work. These are the closest I could find.  My Steve Madden "Pembrook" were a total fail because the 5.5's were too big (not even blog worthy). Reviews said they run small so I pounced at the chance at them possibly fitting. They are the cheaper version of the highly desirable designer version.

I also purchased these suede beauties but will compare to see how they look on. They were on sale so I couldn't resist. Still pretty expensive but if they fit and I love them, totally worth it for me. If you are looking for a lower heeled cognac bootie, this one is worth trying or if you are more of a platform type of girl, these are so nice.

I get super excited when I think I am the first to find an item to review and then another blogger beats me to it. I found these petite friendly boots (Facebook and Twitter friends heard it first) but probably won't do a review since it's already been done.

Hopefully my booties will work out! They are on the way right now!

Readers- any suggestions of other great brands or styles of booties?

Lookbook: H & M Chiffon Tie Collar Cardigan

IMG_8785.jpg
Sweater: H & M (recent) - size XS (similar here)
Skirt: H & M (recent) - size 2 (similar here and here)
Purse: Chanel
Boots: B.P. Nordstroms (old) - size 5 (similar here and here)
IMG_8793.jpg
Necklace: Pearls (similar here or multi-strand)
Earrings: Chanel
I am so in love with this cute little cardigan! It's so perfect for me, I couldn't wait to wear it!  The length hits exactly where I like - I don't even have to tuck in.  I can totally see myself wearing with a pencil skirt to work and then with jeans/boots on the weekends. And how adorable would it be layered underneath a blazer? It was way too hot for me to attempt layering for this post but definitely in the future. I love this sweater so much I want to go back and get it in dark grey!  See it on Callandra
IMG_8843.jpg
I realized that I have last year's version of the mini wool skirt. See my oldie post here (do you think my pictures have changed much?). I couldn't decide which one I loved more so I will be selling one of them in the near future along with a J.Crew heather gray bell skirt in 00. I don't need all these gray skirts. If you are interested, please leave a comment:)
IMG_8776.jpg
The color is supposed to be a powder beige but to me, it's more of a light pink. The best part is you can pair it with brown or black/gray- very versatile.  It's so adorable and I just love the chiffon tie collar and pockets. It reminds me of this outfit I wore. I haven't been this excited about a sweater in a long time!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Review: Ann Taylor and LOFT Haul

Pros: The price is very attractive- only $36 after discounts. It's different than any other skirt I own. See on Jean.  See the dress version on Vicky - looks and fits her amazing.
Cons: Not loving the stretchy material. The waist is slighty too big and the length will also need to come up.
Verdict: Un-decided
Pros: Runs super small! More like a 4.5! I reordered from last time. See my review. Super comforrtable and price was great.
Cons: Not sure if I will get a lot of wear out of these.
Verdict: Un-decided
IMG_8587.jpg
Pros: I don't have any dark brown (marigold) pencil skirts and the color is great for Fall. The price was only $49 after discounts...not sure if it's worth alterations.
Cons: The waist is huge and the length will need to be taken up and the sides slimmed. The back has a hidden pleat with buttons- not sure what that's all about (sorry no pic). I don't love it enough to spend additional money tailoring it.
Verdict: Return
IMG_8675.jpg
Pros: These run a tiny bit smaller than the other AT pumps which is great news for someone with a 4.5 or a small size 5 foot. It matches my leopard haircalf belt which I have never regretted buying matching Ann Taylor belts and pumps:) The price was great after all coupons.
Cons: I'm not 100% sold on this calf hair and hope there won't be spots that will bald in the future.
Verdict: Keeping!
Pros: The color is quite unique- it's called moosewood. It's a cross between a dark plum and brown. The fit and length is perfect and works even when tucked in. See it on Ping in green.
Cons: Love the fit but unfortuately still a bit too spendy for me at $45 and I have a gazillion cardigans.
Verdict: Return
IMG_8669.jpg
LOFT double layer trimmed cardigan in olive melange - XXSP
Pros: Similar to last year's long cardigan version. Fit is perfect. The color is what I was hoping for.
Cons: Not loving the double layered trim when fully button and tucked in.
Verdict: Un-decided (possibly keeping?)

Ann Taylor is having their 40% off everything (no code needed) and stackable with code: 51100001016 for an additional 30% off full priced items (thanks Elle for tweeting). Make sure your order is over $100 to qualify. Free shipping on $150+.

Anyone picking up anything this 2nd round of sales?

Top: Banana Republic Madmen lace shell- size XXSP (similar here and here)
Skirt: Vintage wool/cashmere camel skirt *Thrifted and sides slimmed* - (similar here)
Shoes: Ann Taylor- size 5 (buy here)

As a blogger, we get approached by many companies that want to send us items in exchange for a mention. I am very particular on which companies and items I will let appear on a post. I want to make sure it's something I would buy and definitely would wear in real life. I have done a Stella and Dot post/giveaway in the past and since then have been solicited by many Stella and Dot independent stylists. I have turned down all of them except for Naomi. She was so incredibly sweet and when I heard she was a fellow petite, I couldn't say no.  I love helping out fellow petites grow their company/business.  She allowed me to pick out several pieces to wear for you guys and this LaCoco gold curbchain necklace is one of my new favorite pieces. It's reminiscent of my vintage thrifted gold chain but in a longer version. What's great is that it doubles as a bracelet and you can also wear a brooch with it to change up the style.
IMG_8431.jpg
Belt: Ann Taylor (buy here)
Necklace: c/o Naomi for Stella Dot: LaCoco gold Curbchain
Earrings: Pearl studs (similar here for $6)
Ring: c/o Naomi for Stella Dot: The Camilla Ring
Purse: Forever 21 faux croc mustard crossbody/clutch (similar in black)
If you like her facebook page, you can get 20% off your order and just let her know ReallyPetite sent ya:)

IMG_8361.jpg
I got my vintage thrifted skirt back from my mom. I had sent it to her to slim the sides for me. The waist is still a tad bit loose but I didn't want to make her do any more work than she was already doing (I felt guilty for making her tailor my clothes). She does a better job than my tailor - amazing! After taking these pics, I realized the skirt is still a tad too big all over but it'll do for now.
IMG_8443.jpg
On another note, a lovely petite reader has a bunch of tiny clothes for sale - check out her Ebay page:)
**Disclaimer: Both the necklace and ring were gifted to me from Naomi for Stella Dot.**

IMG_8091.jpg
I got this blouse for only $36 after all the discounts.  I've had my eye on this since it first came out and have been patiently waiting for a good sale. It's sold out online but you can still call and try to do a style finder - that's how I got mine. You can see the same color on Elle and Ping wearing the black.
IMG_8136.jpg
The only downside to this blouse is that it's see-through so I'll have to wear a cami underneath. I didn't for this post because I was too lazy:) I just realized I am wearing Ann Taylor from head to toe.  It's almost as if us bloggers are walking ad campaign's for them! I swear we should get some kind of blogger discount. I went a little crazy during the sale and can't wait to get my chocolate pencil skirt, long cardigan, leopard pumps and Kamela wedges (again).

Anyone else go as crazy as I did? :)

Lookbook: Mustard Sweater and Camel Wool Mini Skirt for under $30

IMG_7789.jpg
Sweater: H & M divided style #095173- size 2 (similar here)
Skirt: H & M style #065242- size 2 (similar here or here)
Belt: Ann Taylor- XS (buy here)
Shoes: Nordstrom B.P. *old* - size 5 (similar here)
Earrings: Chanel
Necklace: Banana Republic (buy here)
This is a typical Fall outfit for me. A wool skirt with sweater, boots and when it gets colder, I simply add tights. This is not only comfortable but one of my new favorite go-to outfits for the weekends. This is my new fave sweater! The colors is actually more of a muted mustard in person and not as bright as the photos.
IMG_7763.jpg
I am loving my Banana Republic dancing bead necklace! It surprisingly goes with everything. I got it during the 40% off sale and even at that price was a bit expensive but I think worth it since I probably will be wearing it a lot! You can see it on Ping here.
IMG_7817.jpg
I can't get enough of my leopard calf hair skinny belt. I just got it on Friday and have already worn it.  I would highly recommend adding this to your belt collection- it's so adorable. I can't wait to get my matching leopard calf hair pumps too! I can finally check these two items off my wish list:)
IMG_7740.jpg
This is why I love H & M. You can get an entire adorable outfit for under $30. Here is the breakdown:
Sweater: $12.95 with 25% off coupon $9.71
Skirt: $24.95 with 25% off coupon $18.71
Grand total = $28.42
How can you beat that? Add some cute accessories and you are set! I was ecstatic when I found a lonely size 2 camel skirt which I have been searching all over for. I love the dark camel color- exactly what I wanted.
IMG_7784.jpg
I wanted to show you the fit of the back....the skirt fits perfectly on me. I love that it's not a A-line cut.
IMG_7803.jpg
Can you tell I am sick in these photos? Well, hopefully not but I have been sick for the past 2 weeks! Longest ever. I had a really bad case of sinusitis and the Doctor gave me too low of a dosage for my antibiotics and it took forever for me to feel better. I was starting to lose hope! Luckily, I finally am feeling good but still on antibiotics (higher dose). Never take your health for granted!
