Banana Republic Laurel Color Block Pumps vs. Tahari Peri Cap Toe Pumps

BananaRepublicColorBlockPump2
Top: Ann Taylor factory {recent} - size XXSP
Skirt: Ann Taylor {old - slimmed} - size 00P (similar here and here)
Belt: Ann Taylor - size XS (buy here)
Shoes: Banana Republic - size 5 (buy here)

Size: These run about 1/2 size small (as do most BR shoes) so be sure to size up. The size 5's fit me perfectly with no heel gap- yay! The insole measures 8 7/8".

Heel height: 3 1/2" with a chunky heel. It's a nice change from my other pumps.

Leather/Quality: The leather seems to be a bit stiff but I'm hoping after breaking them in, they will loosen up a bit. I checked for any quality control issues and the only thing I could see was a few tiny scuff marks on the bottom of the sole.

Comfort level: I have yet to wear these for a full day so I will update this after I wear them (if I decide to keep). The toe box seems to be a tiny bit tight so if you have wide feet, this may be an issue.

Price: $120 but with all my discounts and rewards, they came to $50. I wouldn't pay full price for these but at this price, it's not bad.

Verdict: Possibly keeping

Tahari - size 5.5 (buy here)
Size: From what I can tell, these run TTS (true to size).  If you are usually a 5.5, these should fit you just fine.  I am quite irked that Tahari carries full and half sizes but start their smallest size at 5.5 which makes no sense. What happened to size 5? The insoles measures 9 1/16".

Heel height: 3 1/2"

Leather/Quality: It's a really well made shoe. The patent leather is so pretty and it's the perfect colors. The taupe is not too light or too dark with the black cap toe accent - gorgeous.

Comfort level:  I walked around the house in these and they seem to be really comfortable. The toe box is more of a square shape so no pinching.

Price: $59.95 with $10 coupon = $49.95 w/free shipping

Verdict: So sad they don't fit but highly recommend if you are a size 5.5+. They are gorgeous and the price is decent.

Remember how I ordered these Corso Como pumps? Well I got a call the other day saying they cancelled my order due to a manufacturer defect in the back of the outside of the heel.  Apparently there is a greenish discoloration on all the pairs I ordered (3 diff sizes). A reader (AnnieK.) tweeted me and said she was able to place her order and it shipped just fine. So I am going to try to re-order and see what happens. On Nordstrom's website, it got perfect reviews with no mention of this defect so what the heck?

What are your thoughts on both of these pumps?
