I was really excited to try out Trina Turk’s limited edition collection for Banana Republic and was even more elated when I found out it was available in petites. I am not usually a fan of bold or loud prints but I’ve always liked her line. I was especially drawn to this blue pisces printed strapless dress mainly for the simple silhouette and gorgeous colors.  I typically stay away from strapless dresses only because no matter what I do, they always slip (even with a fuller bust).

It’s taken me awhile to post this because I was waiting for the 00P to arrive.  Banana Republic mistakenly sent me a 0P and I couldn’t wear it because it was way too big and couldn’t even “fake” the fit. So here it is! To cover up, I wore a mustard cardigan to work and added a belt.  This is a great dress for vacation too – I will definitely be bringing it to my upcoming Fiji trip.

I had a major craving this weekend for Vietnamese food so hubby and I tried a new restaurant.  I don’t live in an area where they have great authentic Viet food so you have to drive quite a ways. The best place to have Vietnamese food is Westminster (near Orange County) but that is way too far to drive so we settled for something somewhat close by that had great reviews.  Even though I cook a lot of Asian food, sometimes it’s just nice to eat out. We don’t eat out often but now really want to start to venture out and try new places.  We had spring rolls (delish) altho nothing compares to my mom’s home made spring rolls.  We both had vermicelli noodle bowls.  Hubby chose grilled pork, shrimp and egg rolls in his and I just had extra shrimp and egg rolls in mine. Yummy!

  1. This dress looks beautiful on you – I’m not usually a fan of strapless dresses either, but this one is nice & I love the print! 🙂

  2. I really love the bright colours in this collaboration, don’t you? I have one of the tops and a post with the dress I got will be coming soon – my event is keeping me really busy, so there hasn’t been time to shoot pictures. By the way, I didn’t know that they put eggs in spring or summer/salad rolls. 😛

  6. The dress was made for you. I like the bright bold prints in the Trina Turk collection but I don’t think I will be getting anything from that collection.

  12. Hi Annie,
You look stunning! Love the dress and am seriously thinking about picking one up. I know that this is not a foodie blog but your mouth-watering photos made me think about cooking some Vietnamese food – I love to cook as much as I love to shop! Would you please consider posting your mother’s home made spring roll recipe? I would cherish it!

  16. I like the Trina Turk line, I just wish there were more choices with pink. I was late to the punch on one of the dresses I really liked because only M,L were left online, BUT, now that I’ve read your post, I will go back and look at petites. I didn’t even bother to see if they had petites, I figured they wouldn’t for a limited edition.
Also, the food looks great! I love vermicelli noodle bowls, and order them with spring rolls every time we go to our local Viet restaurant. Yum!
