Recent J.Crew and Forever 21 Purchases

Recent purchases  1. Natasha polka dot top - size 00
2. Teal crochet dress- size small
4. Lace shorts- size XS
5. Viv flats in dusty gold - size 5
Just wanted to share with you my latest purchases. I know what you must be thinking...I am supposed to be done with Forever 21 but I had to try out these items- they look promising but we shall see.  On another note, I was going to do a review on this shrunken white blazer but it's ginormous! I wouldn't recommend if you are my size or smaller. I also got these canvas white shorts (need some for vacay) but they are huge. What's up with the huge sizes Gap?
After two recently failed attempts at Vix bikini's, I found this bikini top   and love this style (looks better on- see below on model). I don't like triangle tops or regular bandeau's- halter top style is okay but not preferred.  Target Junior bikini XS's fit really nice in the butt except the matching bottoms to these are super ugly. So now I am trying to find some cute bottoms to go with this. I was thinking maybe yellow polka dots or a bright bottom would be cute. Any suggestions? All the possibilities I have seen have no small sizes left.

Review: ASOS Petite Red Tulip Dress and Pink Wrap Dress

Enter to win $150 or $100 gift card to Loft HERE!
ASOSPetiteDress1
Asos Tulip Dress w/ belt - size US 1 petite (buy here)
Shoes: Ivanka Trump - size 4 (similar here and here)
Bangle: Kate Spade knot bangle (buy here)
ASOSPetiteDress2
Measurements: shoulder to shoulder = 11", armpit to armpit = 14", waist laying flat = 11.5", hips = 16", total length = 32"

Material: 100% polyester

Likes: High square necklace (so sophisticated), pin tuck detailing in the front, fitted (tiny) waist, concealed zipper in the back (not on side), length is perfect for petites, comes with matching belt, no alterations required for someone my size (but still room to breathe- it's not skin tight)
ASOSPetiteDress6
Dislikes: Unlined, a bit pricey for a polyester dress, wish it came in more colors

Verdict: Keeping! I got it during the 20% off sale so I figured for $42.97- it's not a bad work dress.
AsosPetiteDress3
Asos wrap dress w/ belt {pale blush}- size US 1 petite (buy here)
Shoes: Calvin Klein - size 5 (buy here)
AsosPetiteDress4
Measurements: shoulder to shoulder = 12", waist unstretched = 10.5", total length = 30"

Material: 98% viscose, 2% elastane

Likes: draped finish, long sleeves, slim cut belt (needs more holes punched in, high waistline, wrap detail, good vacation dress
ASOSPetiteDress5
Dislikes: Unlined and see-through, a bit pricey for a thin dress, wish it was a bit thicker and longer, plunging neckline (need to wear a cami), expensive, material is prone to pilling.

Verdict: Undecided- possibly keeping for a vacation dress? After my massive donations recently, I have thinned out my closets and need to replenish (especially clothes I can bring on vacation).

On another note, if you follow me on Pinterest,  I have treated myself to this Vintage brooch and these beautiful babies! So excited to share with you!

I've been on the hunt for some sunglasses but it has been a total fail. I ordered these Ray Ban's after reading tons of reviews stating they were perfect for someone with a smaller face. It looked so ridiculous on me, I didn't even bother taking pictures. These Missoni's were a score a long time ago at TJMaxx and I forgot I even had them. They are much too big and heavy for me. They slip down my nose every two seconds (argh). I do love the chain link sides and remind me of these Chanel sunnies that I will be splurging on (soon).  Is it just me or are sunglasses the hardest to find? I don't know if it's the shape of my face or my Asian nose but it's by far the worst thing to shop for. I am tired of buying cheapies for $9-$10 and want something nice that will protect my eyes (and also try to look somewhat chic).

Anyone else have problems finding sunglasses that fit their face?

Vintage, Gingham and Peplum

** Show me some love and "like" my photo on LOFT's blogger feature on Facebook! **
GinghamandPeplum
Shirt: American Eagle {thrifted for $2) - size 2 (similar here and here)
Dress: c/o Lulus.com - size small (similar here and here)
Purse: Vintage Ann Klein leather clutch (similar here and here)
Necklace: Vintage chain necklace {thrifted for $4} - similar here and here
Shoes: Aldo {old} - size 5 (similar here and here)
GinghamandPeplum2
My outfit was inspired by this on Pinterest. It didn't turn out like I had anticipated:(  I forgot to tuck my tie knot underneath my shirt and I couldn't mask the pink so it doesn't look right.  This green gingham shirt was another score at Saver's thrift store in Vegas. I washed it immediately and couldn't wait to wear it. Not bad for $2 huh?
GinghamandPeplum3
Here is my other vintage leather clutch I got for $4. The quality is amazing. It's soft buttery leather and all genuine leather inside too! I couldn't believe how nice the leather is and it's in mint condition. There's also a strap you can use that is tucked inside. It's a great oversized clutch that can fit a lot of goodies.

On another note, I know many of you are looking for a white blazer for Spring/Summer, I ordered this one to try out for you. Looks promising based on the "shrunken" fit.

Faux Fur and Stripes with a Pop of Orange

FauxFurAndStripes4
Dress: Forever 21 in taupe/black- size Small (buy here)
Vest: BB Dakota - size XS (similar here or here)
Tights: H&M Divided Den 40 - size XS
Shoes: Adrienne Vittadini - size 5.5 (similar here or here)
FauxFurAndStripes1
Purse: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in burnt orange (buy here)
Ring: Lauren Conrad for Kohls {gifted by Vicky} - (similar here and here)
It was finally cold enough to bust out my faux fur vest. This is definitely outside my comfort zone because I typically wouldn't be brave enough to wear something like this. I wasn't exactly sure if I could even pull this look off. This blog really allows me to play around with different looks and try new things.
FauxFurAndStripes3
I am loving my new Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in burnt orange! I found this in Vegas at Nordstrom Rack for 1/2 off the retail price ($249). I originally tweeted about it and then left Vegas without buying it because I was unsure about the color. But then it was one of those things that I couldn't stop thinking about! I contacted Nordstrom's and found out that they will ship to your home from any Nordstrom Rack store for a shipping fee of $11.  I was lucky enough to get an SA to waive the fee for me.  I was lucky the purse was still there and the dust bag was still inside (sometimes dust bags go missing at discount stores). It was a good thing I had a picture of the purse to email them with- made it much easier for them to locate the item. Two days later, I got my purse and have been sporting it everyday. The leather is incredibly soft and buttery. I like the bigger size. I can fit my DLSR along with everything else and there is still plenty of room.  The burnt orange color is great for adding color to neutral outfits and great for Spring/Summer. I will be selling my Rebecca Minkoff mini mini in sky blue (worn once for blog post) if anyone is interested. (SOLD)
FauxFurAndStripes2
I know what you are probably thinking, more stripes? This dress looks like it's similar to my LOFT sweater dress (also seen here) but it's not. The color is taupe/black and made out of  cotton verses a sweater material. What I like about this F21 stripe dress is that it's 97% cotton vs. polyester like my other navy and white one (also seen here and here) that I got for $9.50 which is already pilling up.  I am officially on a stripe ban except I have this rippled stitch sweater coming (ordered awhile ago) and then that's it- I swear! I think I need a stripe intervention :)

What are your thoughts on my new orange bag?

Review: H&M Trend Collection Haul (Fishtail Skirt, Ponte Pencil Dress, Polka Dot Pencil Skirt, Cropped Dolman Jacket)

H&MFishTailSkirt1
H&M fish tail skirt- size 2 (item #052947) $49.95
Blazer: H&M - size 2
Shoes: Calvin Klein *runs small*- size 5 (buy here)
H&MFishtailSkirt.jpg
Measurements:
Waist = 11.5" laying flat across
Hips = 14.5"
Length in back = 19"
Length in front = 16.5"
H&MFishTailSkirt2
This is one of my favorite finds. It's so adorable and runs super tiny. It gives you the illusion of curves which is always a plus when you have smaller hips. I love the neutral light beige color and I was shocked to finally see something in my size in the Trend collection. The only downside is that it's unlined and quite pricey.  The positive side is that it's made out of a thicker ponte material that is super comfortable and is doesn't wrinkle easily. The light color will be hard not to spill and you have to choose your panties carefully because you will see underwear lines. Since this skirt runs so small, ladies who are more modest may have to size up.
H&MFishTailSkirt2
Verdict: Keeping
H&MTrendCollectionReview1
H&M polka dot pencil skirt- size 2 (item #030037) $49.95
Shirt: J.Crew - size XXS (buy here)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin - size 34.5 (buy here)
Necklace: Vintage and thrifted
Clutch: Vintage Coach
H&MPolkaDotSkirt1.jpg
Measurements:
Waist = 11 3/4" laying flat across
Hips = 15.5"
Length = 23.5"
H&MTrendCollectionReview3
I was drawn to this skirt immediately due to the thick material and pretty color combo of tan and mint.  I love how high waisted and fitted it is but the length is a just a bit too long. I would like it to hit right at the knees. The price is steep but the quality makes up for it.  It has a 60's mod type vibe and I love the mint polka dots.
H&MTrendCollectionReview2
Verdict: Keeping and hemming the length about 1-1.5" shorter
H&MDolmanJacket
H&M dolman cropped zippered jacket - size 2 (item #058645) $59.95

I've been looking for a jacket in this color for Spring and Summer that is light and non-blazer like. This style is very unique and has an edgy feel to it. The fit is very wide but I like that I can layer it without it being bulky. I am un-sure if this jacket is worth the price tag of $59.95 but I'm going to try pairing it with other outfits to see how much I like it.

Verdict: Undecided...should I hold out for something better? (It's probably hard to tell from my pics)
H&MPontePencilDress1
H&M black ponte pencil dress - size 2 (item #059894) $49.95
Shoes: Corso Como Quilted Pumps - size 4.5 (buy here)
H&MPontePencilDress2
Measurements:
Shoulders = 12.5"
Waist = 10 3/4" laying flat across
Hips = 12 3/4"
Length = 38"
H&MPontePencilDress3
I love how fitted this dress is but the dolman sleeves and armpit area is so strange. Not sure what to do with it. I've wanted a simple black pencil dress with sleeves for a long time since all my black dresses are sleeveless. I love the front pleat detail and I can wear this to work and out to dinner. It's got a very elegant and chic feel to it and not to mention- super comfortable. Although completely unlined, I don't mind it since the ponte material is very thick. The length is a bit long and needs to come up to where it hits my knees.

Verdict: Keeping and hemming the length

Readers - what are your thoughts on the length of the dress and polka dot skirt? Should I return the dolman jacket?

These pictures were taken while I was in Lake Las Vegas last week. It was my first time visiting this area.  I heard it's where Celine Dion lives. It used to be a really happening place until the market took a turn for the worst. It's such a shame because it's a beautiful and very unique area. Most of the shops and restaurants are closed and it almost looks like an abandoned city. There are still some hotels open but there was hardly anyone in sight which is nice when you want to take blog photos:)
StripedChambray4
The weather was unexpectedly super cold and windy which I wasn't prepared for. I only brought one outfit to blog in and not sure if you can tell but I was freezing my butt off. This sweater dress fits much better after frying it in the dryer. The length did shrink more than I had hoped but it fits nicely everywhere else. It's still roomy enough for me to layer a chambray shirt underneath without looking too bulky.
StripedChambray5
I stayed for a short time but it's always nice to get away even if it's for business.  Have a great week everyone!
