Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great time going out and celebrating or staying home and relaxing with loved ones. It’s hard to believe another year has gone by. I’m going to enjoy my last day off as much as I can because tomorrow will be back to reality again…

I have been scoring some really great deals lately and wanted to share with you ladies! I think that’s one of my favorite things about blogging is sharing amazing deals and hoping it helps someone else. If you need some belts, J.Crew has several of them {genuine leather} on final clearance for $9.99 with 30% off – total is $6.99. I picked up two patent leather ones in cream and pink (see here on instagram). I’ve been watching this bow crystal blush belt and it’s finally on sale but still around $21 and I couldn’t buy it for some reason. I have a new rule for myself, if I have to think about it or am unsure, I shouldn’t get it. The belt is super cute but I will probably get sick of it.

I’ve had plaid fever lately {along with the rest of the world} and have been eyeing the perfect shirt in black watch plaid and ivory tartan. I found the black watch plaid in a size 0 yesterday on sale for $49.99 plus 30% off. I wanted a 00 but 0 fits pretty well. I was able to get the ivory tartan and navy gingham flannel in a 00. I wish I could have gotten the navy gingham in petite 00 instead of regular. I will finally be able to retire/sell my boys gingham shirts that don’t fit well.  I love the fit of the perfect shirts and will hopefully be getting a crisp white one in petite sizing.

This was all thanks to Hubby wanting to go shopping before going to dinner. He’s been on a shopping kick ever since he scored a pair of these slim straight jeans that were $100 for only $21. They were accidentally marked down and the store honored the sticker price. They fit him perfectly and are the perfect wash. It’s very difficult for me to get him to buy casual clothes. He’d rather buy suits than jeans.

I also got three cute sweaters at Forever 21 for only $12. They were all in the clearance section with an additional 50% off. Here is one of my new favorites: (see other ones here)

  2. I think the peacoat would look much better with pants/jeans. The proportions are all off with a skirt because the peacoat hits at your hips and truncates your leg line. Happy New Year!

  6. Hey Annie, I recently scored petite No. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge wool in 00P after being inspired by this post, but it runs a little big. I was wondering if you can share how you ‘shrink’ your skirts. Thanks

    • Hi Cookie!

I wouldn’t recommend shrinking your J.Crew skirt. It ruins the fibers and the lining will not shrink so you will have to take it up. I’ve shrunken a couple of mine including this pink one but I wouldn’t do it again. It’s best to take it to a tailor and do it the right way:)
