Forever21UtilityJacket

If you are looking for a utility jacket, this Forever 21 utility jacket is surprisingly really nice.  It’s still available online and in-stores.  I wanted one that wasn’t too manly or boxy.  I was so happy when I tried it on in-store and the arms were slim and not too long.  We all know Forever 21 is known for inconsistent sizing but this one is petite friendly! It has a detachable hood and a drawstring waist.

I expected the quality to be the usual Forever 21 but I am happy to report that it’s pretty good. It’s 100% cotton and the weight of the material is heavier than expected. I am quite impressed!  I really like the length and where it hits on my hips (as a reference, I am 5′ tall).

This is a great alternative to my typical blazer and adds a different aspect to my casual wardrobe. I love mixing it with feminine pieces like lace or a girly dress. Here are some other ways you can wear a utility jacket:

  1. This outfit is so cute and I love you in sunglasses (very sassy)! I vote for your first outfit in this post even though you didn’t number it. I also like 2, 3, 4 and 6.

Thanks much for trying out my suggestion too. I know you forgot your accessories when taking the pictures and it will look perfect with a cognac belt.

  2. Great post with great ideas for a utility jacket that I would have otherwise not viewed as versatile! The animated (is it a gif or some other format?) image at the end is cool, and it did not cause my page to load slowly or anything like some do.

  3. My favorites were 2,3,&4. This is my first time searching for a blog about petite fashion. I am so glad I did b/c u have already inspired me. I wish I could cut the outfits out I like best and make a book, though. 🙂 I was disappointed that most pieces were no longer available. I am sure it took you time to find them. I used to be more ur size, but I am disabled now and wear a 12p or 14p. My middle is my biggest problem area. I used to enjoy fashion SO much, and still do, but it is hard when u struggle ability wise to get dressed. If I could just get a weeks worth of mix and match pieces that were tailored along with a set of photos of outfits!

If you have ANY recommendations for me, I would be forever grateful. I have two girls and I want to be good models for them as well.

  6. Thank you for this post! I have been hunting for an army inspired vest or jacket for over a year. I have bought 4 different ones that have all been too long or tent like (I am 5’2 and curvy, I wear a small top and a 4 curvy pant). I was happy to find this exact jacket at my local forever 21 and I SNATCHED it up. I have worn it 4 times in the past week. Today I am wearing it with a floral shell and black trousers at work. Totally business casual appropriate! Thanks so much!
