Quick Reviews and Shabby Apple New Arrivals

Forever 21 pleated lace dress
Forever 21 – size XS (buy here)
Measurements: shoulders 11″, armpits 15″, waist 13″, length 35″
This dress is from the Love 21 line which means sizing runs 1/2 size larger than F21 items. Based on the measurements of the size small online, I knew it was going to be too big even in an XS. I was willing to chance it because well… it’s gorgeous. Shopping at Forever 21 is always a crap shoot but there are few occasions when you find a hidden gem. This  is one of them! I try to have very low expectations when ordering from  here because I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. I plan on slimming the top portion (have it clipped back). I love the knee length and soft blush pleats are so pretty. I was praying it wouldn’t be see through and luckily with nude undergarments, it’s passable. I plan on throwing a blazer over this to make it work appropriate. Would recommend.
Ann Taylor Contrast Textured Skirt
Ann Taylor – size 00P (buy here)
Measurements: waist 13″, length 17″
I really like thicker material and texture of this skirt. Unfortunately the waist is too big (have it clipped back) and the length is much shorter than I hoped for. I suspect the front part of the skirt will be wrinkle prone. You can see it starting to wrinkle even though I had just put it on. Gah!
ASOS pleated colorblock dress_
ASOS – size US 2/UK 6 (buy here)
Measurements: shoulders 13.25″, armpits 15″, waist 13″, length 33″
This dress has potential but runs larger than their other US 2 dresses. I have it clipped back. It has an exposed zipper in the back and is unlined. I love the large knife pleats but there were too many things that going against it. Returned.
Shabby Apple Bloom Tulle Skirt
Shirt: c/o Shabby Apple – size P (buy here)
Skirt: Shabby Apple {hemmed and waist taken in} – size 0 (buy here)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Bracelet: c/o Ily Couture (buy here)

This is exactly like my mint tulle skirt (see here). The peach color is so pretty. I had to take in the waist and take up the hem but it was worth it. Would recommend. It’s now available in several different colors.

Shabby Apple Margot Dress
c/o Shabby Apple – size P (buy here)
Shoes: J.Crew
Pearls: Loft outflet (similar)

This is a very classy dress for work. The blue color is very eye catching and the material is a thicker cotton. I love the wrap style because you can pull it as tight as you need. It does run on the larger side. Would recommend. The length is perfect for someone my height (5′ tall).

Shabby Apple Monet Dress
c/o Shabby Apple – size P (buy here)
Shoes: Nordstrom

This dress is also a wrap style and runs smaller than the above. If you are looking for a simple and easy work dress, this is a great option. Would recommend. I love the elbow sleeves and wrinkle free material. The knee length is conservative and very work appropriate. Would recommend. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

any browser compatibility problems? A number of my blog readers have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome.
Do you have any recommendations to help fix this issue?

  6. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re
