This outfit was inspired by Khatu (one of my fave bloggers). She is the queen of layering- see her outfit here. I was giggling to myself as I was taking pics for this post and then decided to re-take it w/my new boots. Cee (another fave blogger) is also amazing at layering. I have no idea how these ladies do it because I personally suck at layering. It's definitely a learning process! : )

See this striped sweater in black/white on Kelly and green/black on Jean. For only $8 (now $4 in store- thanks Sydney), I picked up this tan/pink along with the black/white one.

I was elated when I found these boots on Nordstrom's while online shopping before bed (my nightly ritual). They almost met all of my criteria but I knew the circumference was going to be a tad bit too big (1" in to be exact). See Jean's review here. I was afraid that the ankles would be too baggy but I think these will do. I ordered the 4.5 and 5 in both black and "chocolate" (more of cognac than chocolate) to see which would fit better because I swear my feet are slowly shrinking. I ended up keeping the 4.5's because even with socks, they fit much better. 

To combat the too wide of circumference, I folded the boots down by a little over an inch thus making the circumference 12" and the shaft height 12" as well. For tucking in skinny jeans, I like the shaft height just the way it is at 13 1/4". Some may disagree with this but I personally prefer it this height for skirts.

I absolutely love the color and these are the closest things I could find. See my post last year for how to find the right boots. The leather is nice and soft - not stiff like most boots thus making them foldable.  After many failed attempts last year for boots, these are 95% of what I'm looking for especially now that I can cuff them when wearing with bare legs and skirts.
