Review: LOFT Chiffon Pleated Skirt

Top: Old Navy – size XS (similar here or here)
Blazer: Bebe {old}- size 00 (similar here)
Skirt: LOFT – size 00P (buy here)
Shoes: Cole Haan – size 5 (buy here) Belt: Ann Taylor– size XS (buy here)
Purse: Chanel WOC
IMG_1038.jpgMaterial: 100% polyester, lining is 100% polyester.
Quality: The sides were stitched incorrectly so it’s slightly bunching up .  I’m hoping I can somehow steam/iron it out. I wonder if I just got unlucky or they are all like this. None of my other skirts have this problem.  The one thing I wish I could change was the wider waist band. I prefer it small like the H&M and Modcloth bands.

Size/Measurements: Waist laying flat is 13″ across and full length is 19″. The length is perfect for someone my height. The waist is unfortunately too loose but can be held up with a belt. I will eventually have to get the waist taken in.

Price: $69.50 with 50% off = $34.75 This is a decent price but make sure you wait for a sale. All tiny sizes are sold out online but you can always call and do a style finder.

Verdict: I would recommend this if you are looking for a cute and affordable black pleated skirt.  If you have a size 24″ waist or smaller, be ready to factor in about $25 for tailoring.  I will probably keep this and take in the waist.

There are many types of pleats. All three of my pleated skirts are very different. The easiest to care for so far is the navy H&M skirt because it has wider knife pleats. The best way to care for your pleated skirt is to dry clean them. It’s a bit higher maintenance but worth it.

Anyone else pick up this skirt?

  1. I tried it on and *almost* bought it on Black Friday when it was 50% off…now I'm wishing I had! I agree with you about the bunching…the one I tried on was like that too. And I had to size down to get one that fit me right in the waist. Still super-cute, though – I may just have to go back & get it! 🙂

  2. I usually creep around you blog without commenting but today I have to – the pink blazer is a showstopper! You should bring it out more often as it's not only flattering but super duper cool too!

I know this was a skirt review (I like the fit BTW – if you hadn't pointed it out I would have never known there was an issue) but kudos to the hot pink blazer.

  3. I heart your bright blazer with the contrast detail – it looks so striking with your new skirt! Disappointing to hear about the uneven stitching but hope it straightens out with the ironing. I love the pleated skirt look but just haven't found the "one" for me yet 🙂

  4. Lovely as always, but I would've spiced up the outfit with some colourful shoes too.

  5. Annie, you're going to have a collection of rainbow colored pleated skirts in no time, hehe. Love how you kept the outfit neutral except for the hot pink blazer!

  6. My eye is drawn to your blazer! What a great colour! I like the black skirt but I have enough pleated skirts to satisfy me for now 🙂

  7. I got the same skirt, Annie. I didn't have the bunching problem. After reading your review I went back and looked for a good while but couldn't see the problem you mentioned, so I'm thinking it might be local to your skirt. The quality control of Loft products are getting sloppy that's for sure. I do wish the waist was a bit slimmer than it was, but since I am a bit wider than you are I don't really need alteration. I used a belt today (Ann Taylor with gold chain) and it was staying put pretty well. Nice thing I found about this skirt – after a whole day of sitting on it, I didn't find a single wrinkle on the nice pleats. I am impressed and totally happy with it. You have no idea how many compliments I got on this little skirt. I felt like I received a standing ovation if this skirt was a performance. lol. No pictures though. I am working 24/7 nowadays and blogging is taking a back burner.
    LOVE your pink jacket.

  8. I can't wait to see it on you! You are so lucky you didn't get a messed up skirt! I think another blogger told me hers had the same problem too!
    Post pics please 🙂

  9. hummmm… I don't know why but I am not a fan of the pleated skirts. I like the sweater though.

  10. Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to
be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider
worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the
nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing
without having side-effects , people could take a signal.
Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  11. An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a colleague who had been doing a little homework on this.
And he actually ordered me breakfast because
I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending time to discuss this matter here on your web site.

  12. When I initially left a comment I seem to have clicked
the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I receive four emails with the exact same comment.
Is there a way you can remove me from that service?
    Thank you!

  13. Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess
I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any tips and hints for beginner blog writers?
    I’d really appreciate it.

  14. You’re so awesome! I don’t suppose I’ve truly read through something like this before.
So great to find another person with a few genuine thoughts on this
issue. Really.. many thanks for starting
this up. This web site is one thing that is needed on the internet, someone with a bit of
    originality!

  15. I think that everything posted made a ton of sense.
However, think about this, what if you wrote a catchier post title?
I am not saying your content isn’t good., however suppose you added a post title that makes people
desire more? I mean Review: LOFT Chiffon Pleated Skirt | Stylish Petite is a little plain.
You might look at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create article
headlines to grab viewers to click. You might add
a related video or a pic or two to get readers excited about everything’ve got
to say. Just my opinion, it could make your posts a little bit more
    interesting.

  16. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism
or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a
lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do
you know any methods to help reduce content from being ripped off?
    I’d really appreciate it.

  17. I think this is among the most significant information for me.
And i’m glad reading your article. But should remark on some general things, The site style is
perfect, the articles is really great : D. Good job,
    cheers
