Every year I visit my family, my sister takes off work to spend time with me and we shop until we drop. She and I have very similar work styles but when it comes to casual clothes, we are total opposites. She loves Free People, Anthropologie and premium denim. We were scouring the sales racks at Macy's for her and she forced me to try on these AG jeans. I told her there is no way I will pay that much for a pair of jeans. She said they are by far her favorite brand and will wear nothing else. She also warned me that not all AG jeans are petite friendly. The other style that she would recommend for petite ladies are The Angelina petite's. I also tried on a second pair of skinnies at Macy's in size 24. I believe they were called the AG legging jeans. They fit perfectly but were still full price at $150 so I passed. I'll be waiting for a sale if I ever see them again.
I have never understood what the hype was about premium denim and now I finally get it. As soon as I put these cigerette skinnies on, I fell in love. I don't even know how to describe how amazing these are! They are so comfortable and the fit is so right in every area.
If you have been a long time reader, you know I am not a fan of jeans. The only pairs I like are my Gap jeggings and my Old Navy rock stars.
Both my sister and I were shocked to find out my jeans were the ONLY ones on sale plus we had an additional $25 off coupon. Apparently AG jeans rarely go on clearance so after a coupon and the marked down price, I paid $68 for them. It was hard for me to swallow the price at first but after bringing them home and wearing them out to dinner, I realized that it is worth it.
Here are some details:
- tailored in super soft stretchy 10 oz. denim
- stilt cut in optic white features tonal stitching and nickel hardware
- low rise, approx. 7 1/4"
- fitted through skinny legs
- cropped, rolled above ankle, approx. 26" inseam
The only downside to these jeans is that the rolled part does not un-cuff and cannot be worn longer. I wish it were the case but it's meant to be worn rolled. I'll keep my new Old Navy rock star jeans for when I feel like wearing white skinnies longer with no cuff. FYI- I ordered the new and improved rock star jeans (in sea salt) this year in 0 short and 0 petite and the 0 petite fit me perfectly. The 0 short was okay but the crotch area was baggy. The material is a thinner and stretchier material than last year's.
The size 24's fit me nicely with a tiny waist gap in the back. The crotch, butt and thighs hug me nicely w/out being tight or uncomfortable. The denim material is so amazing, I can't even describe it.
