I used to never like casual clothes but I am growing to love it more and more. A couple of years ago, layering wasn't my strong suit but now I have embraced layers. This type of outfit {blazer/layers/denim/boots} has been my go-to outfit on the weekends. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I can no longer wear this comfy boots. I originally posted this outfit here. Instagram and Facebook has become my diary of OOTD's (outfit of the day) and has been helpful for me when I'm picking out outfits in the morning for work.
I think I have said it a million times, I am staying away from Forever 21 and yet the store reels me back in again and again. This sweater was a great buy at $17. It's merino wool, nice quality and the fit is decent. The arms are super long but nothing a cuff or two wouldn't fix. It's a great dupe to the J.Crew tippi sweater. If you are patient enough and can browse through their hundreds of items online, you can sometimes find a gem or two. If you are really brave and don't mind going deaf to loud music or swarms of teens, then try your luck in store.
This American Apparel blouse is one of those items where I paid too much for because I clearly had polka dot goggles on. I put full blame on WhatJessWore for looking so cute in her blouses here. It unfortunately falls under my regret purchases category. This year I really want to try my best not to allow myself to fall prey to sales or acquiring too many of the same prints (ahem polka dots and stripes), patterns or colors. I can't make any promises about buying the same item in different colors....once I find something I like, I feel the need to have it in several colors. I've never regretted any of my items that I have done that with (Ann Taylor factory ruffle shells, J.Crew schoolboy blazers, H&M collarless blazers).
I pretty much already failed at not allowing myself to fall prey to sales last night when I discovered these adorable Italian leather platform wedges on sale for only $20.99 - was $168 (after 30% promo). Only size 5's are available. They come in three different colors. This was such a great deal that I could not pass up. J.Crew shoes run about 1/2 size smaller than Ann Taylor so the size 5's fit me perfectly. I placed the order immediately but they wouldn't allow me to ship these wedges to California! I called J.Crew late last night and it's due to some strange new law that recently passed (was too tired to get more info). It only applied to these specific wedges - what the heck right? What are they made out of - lead? I had to ship them to my parent's house in a different state. So weird.
