Mustard and Polka Dots

Since getting my vintage Coach crossbody from my MIL a few years ago, I’ve been wanting one in a different color. On the weekends, I find myself gravitating towards the same crossbody but sometimes needing it in a different color other than cognac.

Several months ago, I noticed that Coach brought back the navy version as a special edition. I was about to order it and it sold out almost immediately. Thanks to my friend Trang for giving me a coupon code and I was able to order it at a substantial discount. I had to wait a couple months since it was back-ordered but it was worth the wait.

This navy version compared to my vintage bag is slightly different. Coach made the overall size smaller and the leather much lighter. They changed out the single strap for a double strap which I don’t really care for. I prefer a simple single strap however I did notice that the double strap is much more comfortable on my shoulders when shopping and running errands.  Another difference is that the newer version does not have an outside open pocket.  I love the back pocket to throw my cell phone in while running errands. Besides the double strap and lack of an outside pocket, I’m happy with my new Coach purse.

This J.Crew Bailey hat looks black but it’s a dark navy color. It fits my head better than any of my other hats (see previous wool hat review here).  I don’t have to worry about it blowing off on windy days. The brim is a perfect size and the quality is very nice. You can buy it on sale here.
